How long did it take for you to break the 10k barrier reliably?
Just got my first powerball today and reached 10218 straight out of the box

that is a good rate of improvement, good luck when your ball gets to you maybe after a few weeks of good training you will be a 14k+ spinner

Apart from the damaged ball, that sounds about the same as me. Though actually it took me dozens of attempts over the space of a few hours to even learn how to get the Powerball spinning, once I did I broke 10k almost straight away, 11k a day or two later, and 12k within the week. 13k was a whole other matter...took months and months!!

I received mine a few hours ago. Hit 10000 after about an hour, 12000 after a couple of hours. However, I've now got a couple of blisters.

By the way, sorry if a little off-topic but is the ball meant to be firmly seated in its cage when newly purchased? Mine rattles about a bit - perhaps by 1 or 2mm. When it starts rattling,it feels like it hinders the rotation a bit. Normal?

Cheers

EDIT: Ah, I see from this http://www.powerballs.com/faq.php?m=Works&id=13 that there's meant to be some up/down movement when stationary.

Cool to read all of your individual stories, guys!

I was 14 yrs old when my dad suprised me with a real powerball, I had been practicing on a cheap gyroscope for a couple of weeks before that and had been watching Akis's 16.3k video on YouTube and idolizing him lol. I was so excited and probably spun it for two hours. I got maybe 10.8k-11k the first day and 11.5k the second. Probably took me a week to 12k and a month to 13k but after that I hit a roadblock and couldn't score 13k for a very long time....
...Three years to reach 15k.
