Ticking sound

I took my PB apart due to a knocking noise, I found a knick in the inside ring. After I put the PB back together again it starting making a "ticking" noise in addition to the knocking. If I take the clock out, the ticking goes away. Any suggestions on what to do?

The ticking was probably always there. It's made by the magnetic reed switch in the counter.
