i notice there are two metal editions.
the original iron power version and this new metal NSD edition.

is the iron power one also 350hz??

just wondering as i want a new one but can get the iron power one for about half the price of the new metal NSD one?is there much difference?

are they even made by the same company?i swear there was a limited edition iron ball or was this just a different company?

That other item you talk about isn't offered for sale by powerballs.com ...hence the reason why it was starred out in the thread title. It has no counter, and you wont be able to take part in the scoreboard here.

As for how good it is - I've never tried it and so can't answer that one. I only have NSD powerballs.

was there not a special edition metal one before the NSD version became avaiable?

You are talking about a cheap imitation of the powerball 350Hz. And it is not for the first time that the imitation was earlier on the market than the original.

But if you want to buy that ****, go ahead. There isn't even a counter available for that piece of junk.

Adrena1in's got one, with a heavy rotor (I think), haven't myself but wouldn't call it **** without trying one!!!
The 350Hz is very beautiful though!

I have one of each. The 350hz is a much better value even though it's double the price.

The Iron Power model is heavy but rough. If you spin the Iron power up and then stop your wrist circles its rotor will stop rather quickly. If you spin the much quieter and smoother 350hz up and then stop your wrist motion the rotor will continue spinning at a high rate of speed for three times the length of time the IP model would.

The Polished Chrome and handsome magnetic display case make the 350hz a work of art that anyone would be proud to keep on their desk.

The 350hz is a Cadillac or Lexus in both beauty and performance whereas the IP model is the equivalent of a Yugo or a LeCar.

This is a Powerballs website, and as such there shouldn't be any sort of promotion for competitor products. I bought one of those metal "Wrist Balls" a while back though. It came with a light, aluminium rotor, which at first was very quiet...I literally could hardly hear it when I put my hand over the opening. It was also very smooth. However, the company reckoned 18000 revs was possible, but that was bill-hooks...I couldn't get more with it than I could with my 250Hz.

The heavy steel rotor was something I had to buy separately. It's a bit out of balance and vibrates, so is nowhere near as smooth as the 350Hz. But it does still give a good workout. However, you'll probably have to still get the heavy rotor separately for the IP, and mine cost me £20. With no counter, and no rubber grip, and a lower quality item, there really is no need to get the IP. I only did out of curiosity really. Seriously, the Metal 350Hz is in a class of its own.

how do u know if your metal 350hz ball will have the heavy composite rotor or the 'screamer' rotor?

Autolupus

It will have the heavy "Stegosaur" rotor. The "screamer" or "Raptor" isn't available yet.
It is veiled in a cloak of mystery and shares it's place in cryptozoology alongside The Yeti, Sasquatch, The Owlman of Cornwall and The Loch Ness Monster!!!

Hi Andy,

The simple answer is if you have a genuine NSD powerball then it has a heavy rotor. The screamer is as yet unavailable... there are problems with the duarability of the support band in relation to the speeds which are produced using the screamer lightweight rotor. (10-21,000 rpm)

As mentioned, there is another product available which is billed as 'the' metal powerball, but (and I can guarantee you of this looking at two of them as I type this) they are 'poor' in comparison to the genuine NSD Metal powerball.

Regards

Shall I close this off now?

about the NSD 350 POwerballs... the rotor of ALL the nsd 350 r a high density rotor... i think in july the "screamer" rotor will be with the nsd 350... ^^

Does that mean there will be 2 metal scoreboards?
I wonder if the screamer rotor will be a different color. If so then when taking a video one has to show the rotor then the counter speed.

Gold I think?

Gold I think?
I asked Enda this, because there are pictures of a gold rotor on the boxes and I assumed this rotor was the Screamer, but I think he said it's just another heavy rotor...he said he had one on his desk, but didn't like it. I was tempted to ask if I could have it because I think it looks lovely!! :)

But yes Kozpan, there really ought to be a separate scoreboard for the Screamer. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

Let's start with waiting for the Screamer to be released, before talking about scoreboards :) .

i wonder what score Akis will reach with the screamer :D it will be heard in all neighbourhood :D

The Force

They are probably already working on a ultra-screamer already (up to 25k rpm :) ), to satisfy Akis needs :) I mean..20k will be too easy for him anyway.

I mean..20k will be too easy for him anyway.I really wish the Screamer would appear soon, because for ages I've been of the belief that I won't be able to make it go any faster than a regular 250Hz.

Anyway, before this gets into a discussion about the screamer, I think I might close it off, as it was just a question from someone asking whether he should buy the best quality Powerball ever, or a comparitively poor substitute, and I think the answer's been given.
