View Full Version : Metal Powerball First Impressions

I just received my shiny new metal powerball this Friday and since they are still rare, I thought I would quickly share my experience.

Of course, its perfect chrome finish and clear magnetic box makes it nice as an ornament. For example, carrying it in the car is more pleasant since it will no longer crash into the walls. Furthermore, it's easier to keep it clean. :)

The powerball itself is very different from my plastic ********. It is much heavier and requires what feels like twice the effort. It's definitely a challenge and is guranteed to leave your arms feeling pumped. For comparrison, I tried the ******** after the metal and it is just a world of difference. It feels as if my arm is holding a cloud and it seemed much easier to get high speeds.

While, right now my best score is only 9,232 RPM, this is an excellent fitness device. It is challenging, fun and addictive. However, touching the spinning rotor can be quite painful. Maybe there could be a plastic cover that would be placed on top of the open rotor once you get it going. Furthermore, when using the strength index and constantly switching hands, I sometimes accidentally turn off the counter. Perhaps there is a better way to do this? Anyway, in a nutshell, it is a great product and I'm very happy with my purchase.

BTW: The * should read ..*****.. I think this censorship is inappropriate.

I think this censorship is inappropriate. Thanks for that review, and I'm glad you like the Metal. I know what you mean about it hurting when you touch the rotor. You don't get friction burns from it because it's cold metal, but it does tend to grip.

As for the censorship, that's just because Powerballs.com don't want competitor products to be advertised on here. :)

Good morning exigentsky

We value all input to the forum, but do not want it to be used to advertise or promote competitors products.

One small point that we want you to bear in mind; this resource has been created around a commercial product and so, while we will be fully open to everyones viewpoint and opinion (and the idea of free speech) we will not allow it to be used to promote or in any way advertise competitors products or web sites - we therefore reserve the right to delete any post to be found in breach of this rule...

Regards

I agree with you about not advertising or promoting a competitor's products. However, there is a big difference between advertisement and just mentioning a name purely for information.

I didn't say, get XYZ because it has so much better QWE and it includes an RTY. It is the best powerball you will ever find! Try it free and if you're not satisfied, you can have your money back! You won't regret it etc. I did not advertise because I was not promoting the virtues of a competitor's products. I only mentioned its name for comparrison. There are many plastic powerballs on the market and without a brand name, most readers would be clueless as to their quality. I'm sure you'll agree that not all powerballs are of equal quality. Thus, I think that the censorship is brute and unnecessary considering the context.
