View Full Version : 10,000 RPM but going down instead of up!

I have had my Powerball Techno for 3 or 4 days now.
On the first day I cracked 10,000 RPM.
Since then I haven't been able to repeat that achievement and often struggle to reach 9,000 RPM.
I don't think I have overdone it and weakened my wrist muscles as I have been having plenty of rest inbetween attempts.
Would anybody have any idea of what may have happened here?
One thing I have noticed is that it's more difficult to get my ball spinning from the off compared to when it was new (not that 3 or 4 days is old!).

Three possibilities:
1) Your body is getting used (=recovering) to the powerball performance and your performance is therefore in a dip (happened to me also quite some times, be patient then)
2) You overdid your training (read more than 15 minutes per day).
3) Your powerball gained some dust inside such that the rotor axle slips when spinning. This severely reduces the max speed of a powerball. Just a matter of blowing in the powerball with some compressed air and your powerball is up for new records.
Good luck,

Thank you for your suggestions The Force ;)
I popped my ball open to check that there were no foreign bodies in it and gave it a quick rub down.
I thought I read somewhere that the Techno has 2 friction ring linings in it but mine only had the one?
Anyway back together and a quick spin up gave me 8,500 odd.
I then discovered that spinning him up with my left hand and then taking over with my right enabled me to crack the 10,000 again! :D
Now my only problem is sussing out how to get the ball into the different modes. It seems a bit temporamental.
Sometimes I think it's in "RPM" mode so I give it hell for leather only for it to display "NEW NSD POWER BALL" when it slows down. This is extremely annoying  ;)

Read the manual :-)
You can make the powerball switch between the 30sec/speed modes by keeping the powerball between 6000 en 8000rpm for about 15seconds. Then you will see a blue line popping up. If the blue line is there..the powerball is in 30sec mode..if it is absent..the powerball is in speed mode.
Furthermore, if you make the speed drop until a level wehere all red lights are off and then spin up again, the powerball is in speed mode too. In other words..the powerball always start in speed mode :-)
Good luck,

P.S. My record with the Techno is 14161rpm...but I just can't do it anymore :-( I even don't manage 13k with it. Boohoo..snif....:-(
