i made a post before about cleaning my powerball from all the dust particles, etc.

now that after i cleaned it, it still has that vibrating problem, and is still very loud.....but it only happens at about 9000 rpm or higher, when before it happens at around 7000 rpm.

did i clean it wrong?....i opened it and wiped it down with a dry paper towel.

or is the ball BROKEN?

I guess you know how the original powerballs look like right?(if you visit this site alot)

Maybe it's a faulty powerball. Just send them an email and they'll help you

But!. When you opened it there was a white ring around the rotor. This white ring is place on a circular plastic base.(you'll see it when you remove the white ring) Concentrate on cleaning that part.(the dust on it makes noises.

About the vibration, then you may see dents and holes in that circular area. I don't know how that part can be fixed(but I think you should get it replaced)
I just know that these holes makes sounds similar to vibration.

Check the rotor. <-- the main thing that'll make vibration

The FAQ (http://powerballs.com/faq.php) should help you alot. That's why they ask you to visit the FAQ section before posting the same questions in the FAQ (http://powerballs.com/faq.php) (only if you have further problems like "i still can't get it to stop vibrating"

i didn't remove the "white ring".....

i kept it as a whole (yellow rotor, metal axle thing, greyish color plastic base that the rotor rests on) and just wiped it down

was i supposed to take it apart even more?....

I think scr3amer just meant, remove the rotor assembly(complete) from the two hemispheres and clean the track the rotor axel runs on.;)

Yes r3d,

You need to take the Powerball completely apart, and then clean all of the components to ensure that they are dust-free.

Also, check for the following when you have the Powerball taken apart:

- 'ruts' in the spheres (top/bottom shell)
- a worn support band (white/grey ring that rotor sits on)
- crack in the rotor itself (yellow 'ball')

If you do identify any of the above, please send an email detailing the part required to liz@powerballs.com and let her know what is written on the grip-band of your ball to ensure that you get the correct part.

Regards
