not that the metal ball rotor is light just wondering if possably a heavier one will ever come out would be cool i think for adding some mass to your arms i dunno id love to see a heavier rotor more so then a lighter one am i all alone on this or would anyone buy a heavier rotor?

I'm with you on this one iceblu121. The metals rotor is pretty torquey but it would be great to go to the absolute extreme and have something that would rip you arm off @8k:eek: something REALLY hardcore:D I wouldn't mind signing a disclaimer,;) and would definitely buy one. They could call it the Megasaurus.

Wouldnt a much heavier rotor actually decrease your speed ability?
I imagine it would make your muscles more sluggish, as opposed to the quick, high strength muscles necessary for those high speed screamer runs :)
It would probably put more mass on though. Id definitely like to try it, although i imagine the moderators arent really looking for another scoreboard to look after hehe.
By the way, has anyone noticed the MJ is on the strength index twice? Please sort it out, its making my score that valuable one point lower hehe :p

Thanks for that Mark, its fixed now so you're back in your rightful place!
It would be interesting alright to have a heavier rotor, but I guess as you said Mark it would be designed more for building mass, and endurance as opposed to strength and speed.
If something like this were to arrive on the scene, we probably wouldn't have a scoreboard to be honest - it would be too difficult to authenticate the scores, and ball unless it was designed very differently.
Also, I'm not so sure that the rotor support ring could handle it!

i still don`t get it why the support band couldn`t be made of some metal? maybe the friction would be smaller?

I am not a mechanical engineer, but I know that there is always a trade-off.
1) Either you make the rotor axis very very hard and then the rotor support-band wears out and needs replacement once in a while
or
2) You make the rotor support band very very hard and then the rotor axis will wear out the fastest.
The second option is no option since it is quite risky to have the rotor axis wearing out. All of a sudden your rotor axis may break while running at high speeds.
Btw, making both materials as hard as possible will make both parts wear out, but then there is still the friction issue. Iron on iron will probably result in sparks coming off.

P.S. Now shoot me....I am just an electrical engineer trying to learn ;-).
I would say that the friction from metal on metal would be huge and would produce some seious heat as well as sparks, so its not likely to happen.
In agreement with The Force, you need one part to give (especially with the high speeds of the powerball) which is easily replaceable - the rotor support ring.

at this point i cant even get neat my 13922 score with 250 hz ball and
not even near my 350hz score im pretty sad to say i think i wont top my scores no more so why not just build muscle if a new rotor heavier came out and wasnt aloowedd to be rated on the score board WHO CARES its like having diffrent set weights that you can take on the go and build your arms wrists etc which im more into then scores to tell you the truth :-)

Hullo Iceblu121, guess you're from a strength training background! Me too. What are your bests on the three powerlifts? I'm not too concerned about high scores either but grip strength is pretty important to me so a low rev high torque rotor would be just the ticket!
