View Full Version : Help! Lost my speed...
Has this happened to anybody? On my 3rd try with my fresh new powerball, I got about 11k, or whatever speed at which the rotor starts to make a high pitched F1 car type whine, but now I can't even get 7k! It's not the powerball as a friend of mine got 10.7k just today, and I seriously do not understand what is going on! Help please!

I get this sometimes. Not quite as drastically, but my records are around 13500 with either hand, yet there have been times where I struggle to get over 10k with either hand. It's like I just lose my rhythym for a bit, and feel almost out of control.
I suggest either resting for a day or two, or doing some endurance. Get it going at about 7 or 8k and keep it going for as long as you can, swapping hands every now and then, for about an hour or so. Then rest and give it another go at speed. You may find your muscles are now back into rhythym.

Seems like a minor overtraining situation to me. Had that also a couple of times. Don't panic...just take some time of rest and you will get back to shape.

Yeah for me its the same, im currently in a "speed gap".... :(

Aaah! Lol, I was using it the entire day at 10krpm, and I've never used something like it before, so I see! Damn, I tried the whole day today and got 8342 or so...:(

Training a muscle group for a whole day, which you never trained before...that I call "asking for troubles" ;)

P.S. They advise not the use the powerball more than 10minutes per day on the first month. And I advise you to take days off every week. So, let's say. Don't train more than 4 days a week.

And no more than 30 minutes during these 4 days. Otherwise your fingers will hurt and your blisters will never disapear or heal normaly....
I've not touched a ball for a few days and I had a go this morning and straight away my arms felt tired, long periods of rest is the key I think.
Weird. I just do not want to, you know, put it down, I can't help it! In fact, when my wrist starts aching from using the ball at "high speed", I use the Powerball at low RPM to get rid of it :o

I know what you mean...I find it hard to put the Powerball down too. I may just pack them all away as I'm moving in a few weeks, and then I'll HAVE to rest...
Lucky you! How fast do you have to spin the rotor so that it starts making that crazy whine like an F1 car then? I can't get it to do so, no matter how hard I try. I had it doing it once though:)

I put mine down for a week and rested and then jumped from 13534 to 14053 and I've only had it since Christmas 2005! See Tim I'm not normal. The Greek boy's going down...ha
this i so agree.....i've only used powerball for a week, max rpm is 11480 (coz i suck xD), and now, i can't even get it to 10K
after i got my powerball....it gets addicing and dun want to put it down.
but when you feel hurt (the kind where you know your mucsles are growing), i use the ball at about 5-7K just to slowly work it so it gets rid of the pain while slowly managing to keep getting stronger
works pretty well i guess

Nice improvement dude, but is your 14053 score in the current top100 list?

Yup, but it's 14148 now, I seem to have hit the wall or something for the past week I can't even break 13K now. I have no idea what's going on, I can't seem to get the rythem back. So I've been taking it easy and try again this weekend. Just been doing tricks with the thing for a while. Got the double handed flick start down like James M which is really cool. However, I should soon be sending Enda a video that will rival James...

Be careful dude. I remember the moment quite well when I broke the 14k barrier last year July and in my enthousiasm I overtrained myself. Took me about 5 months to find my back the form, and break my record again (and now I injured my thumb with the metal :) ). Overtraining can be noticed as follows: despite your efforts your maximum score drops and drops. In my case my performance even dropped below 12k and stupid as I was I just kept on trying :( :( . Anyway...take this lesson.....and take a good break :-) And you will be surprised what you will achieve after that.
