Hi guys, i've had my Powerball for almost a month now and recently it has started to rattle, and it is taking me more effort and time to start to hear the awesome revving sound. Previous to this, i was knocking out no less then 12500 each time, and my highest is about 12897. Also with a 14545 on the Strength board. But now, i hear a clicking noise (not knocking) and the highest i can get is 10500. :(

I have of course gone through the instructions on this website saying what to do if it does not run smooth, but have had no luck, so if anyone knows why this would happen, please feel free to give suggestions :)

Thanks!

Well, if it vibrates a lot, your rotor is probably broken.. Just send them an email and they will send you new one :)
But before that, open your ball and check if everything else looks normal & smooth.

clicking noise (not knocking)

Hey BigC,

This clicking noise, does it like 'click' if u slowly turn the ball? then when it clicks you can reverse the ball and it 'clicks' again ?

I have the same problem, i took the Powerball apart and noticed there was alot of dust or some other substance around the support band which wasnt helping. Also there is a crack in the support band where the 2 holes are, maybe this will cause the clicking noise.

I havnt recieved my replacement support band yet, but when i do ill post back to see if it fix's it

Good luck

Such a "click" comes when you let your ball fall. It disapears after a while usually. You just have to do some training sessions...

Ive never dropped my ball, thats pretty much why i cant get high speeds cant hold onto it so i dont let go ;)

Yes, its true. I was starting up my powerball (with a flick start of course), and holding it loosely to get the lazy motion going. The i could do nothing but watch in horror and disbelief as i felt the powerball leave my hand and bounce on my floor!
I took it apart and yes, there was a reasonable dent in the bottom half of the sphere. I have evened the dent out slightly with a screwdriver and been trying to smooth it out again with endurance runs.
I hope my poor little powerball will recover!!

The white circular part which is attached to the rotor and then placed on the plastic rotor support.

^that white part would be 'cut'and some of it would be sticking out and touching the rotor and make the clicking noise.

What I did was open up my powerball and cut of the "sticking out" part and the clicking noise dissappeared!:D

Thats what I did but I think the admins' advice would be better!

i just got mine a few days ago and noticed the click...

sping the rotor slowly until you hear the click then stop..

turn on the counter and set it to the real time count..

now move the rotor back and forth (dont spin it) so you can it clicking

does your rpm go up (around 300rmp)

The best thing for you to do Big C is to open the Powerball (detailed here (http://www.powerballs.com/faq.php?q=21)) and check for the following:

- 'ruts' in the spheres
- a worn support band
- crack in the rotor itself

If you do see any of these, please send an email to info@powerballs.com detailing the part required and also what is written on the grip-band of the Powerball to ensure that the correct part is shipped.

There are two types of 'clicking' noises you can get:

one you should only hear at relatively low speeds and is low in volume - the reed switch in the counter
a louder noise which can be accompanied by a 'rough' feel to the Powerball which generally indicates damage as described above.

The counters always make a clicking sound if the magnet of the rotor passes by. What that is quite a weak sound. Anyway, that kind of sound is absolutely normal I would say.
