String stuck inside Techno Powerball

I Yanked on the string to start it, but the string slid off to the side and got caught on the side of the ball inside. Does anyone know how to open the Techno Powerball to get the string unstuck? I took two screws of the sides but the two halves are still stuck together. If I pry on it, I know it will break into pieces. Help!
