Hey I got a powerball the other day and the only one I could get was the Neon Blue one (one with lights) and I was just wondering if those lights would cause the rpm to be lower considering that they are powered from the energy you put in? If so is it much of a diff? not that it makes much difference but just thought id ask anyhow...

Hi there,
I was just looking on the powerball website and the question&answers link is great. Your question was answered there - Techno and Neon ranges have been balanced to the same ultra fine degree as the 250Hz range and in theory, therefore, should be capable of reaching the same speeds.

However, the top speeds of these two models will be in or around 5-7% less [than the 250hz] as a result of the induction mechanism on their rotors. Not that this makes a huge difference of course - Neon Blue will still hit the high 13k mark in the right hands (which is good enough for most!).

Techno is a little bit slower still as a result of a slightly different internal design and is quite difficult to take over 13k (it will exceed this level of course, but again, only in the right hands!).

So there you have it: 250Hz is the fastest, followed by the Neon models in second place and Techno in third!
