Optimum temperature

Is there an optimum temperature that the ball will work best? Most engines are more efficient as they heat up? Just a thought.

I find sticking mine in the freezer for 10 minutes before I use it helps to keep the core temperature down and the "frostbite effect" helps to weld my hand to the ball during use.
