View Full Version : Holding the Powerball problem
I am having a real problem holding the powerball when its spinning for longer then 30 seconds. It slips out of my hand even if I really hold it hard. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

I have the same problem, please someone help.

Can only get to 12978RPM because have to slow down because slips from hand even if I grip srainiously hard, I mean hard. If it was in a hand shaped grip I could probably hold it longer indefinatly and get seriously higher speeds.

Same problem here, they should have some bigger hands on sale in the shop!

I have a big set of paws and well you don't necessarily want bigger hands since tis hard to get a really good grip without worring about your fingers getting skinned or at least just slowing down your rpm

Maybe they could make a larger version of the powerball?

anyone figured a way around this ? only have mine for a couple of days and i suffer the same problem. My hand starts sweating real quick once i use it and it just slips forcing me to stop.

maybe you could use a glove with rubber padding on the inside like goalies and mountainbikers use?

I have the same problem, but i recently found something that works. Make sure your powerball is pretty dry (no skin oils or sweat) and then get water on your hand and try it so its clammy. I was holding a can of coke and wiped my hand on my shirt then picked up the powerball and i had REALLY good grip on it. I got 13k =) I dunno, it worked for me.

How about working your grip? Just grip the thing harder, and if you can't, you are simply a wuss ;)

The same happened to me, I simply couldn't stop it from slipering, no matter how hard I squeezed, and that is because my hands sweat a lot...probably yours too.
SOLUTION!
Buy a tennis raquet grip, and roll it around the stock one...It'll increase the grip a lot, and also the confort...
and I mean A LOT.
Jorge
Buy a leather golf glove.

simple really, i jus turn it around so that the screen is facing the outside i get alot better grip this way

i still cant get much over 11k but i have found wearing a leather glove makes it more comfortable

Hi, I dont think it has anything to do with the size of your hand. Its a grip and finger strength problem. I have been climbing now for about three years and can hold on to a lot smaller holds than when i first started, its just a case of being patient and waiting for the strength to build up;)

I believe the grip problem has to do with the hands. I've never had a problem gripping the ball and I believe I have small hands, but I'm sure guys with bigger hands have problems griping it tighly deep in the hand.
I do belive that my hands are a bit small for the balls with counter, I believe I can spin the techno harder than a ball with a counter. Yes, the counter makes a difference for me, I has given me sore hands.

Here's the BEST solution i've found so far: Wash your hands thouroughly with soap and dry them off well, make sure the ball is dry also, and you should have super grip, i do this every time i use it now and i've got 13252rpm

As well as washing your hands, every so often, take the rubber band off and give it a good wash with soap or washing-up liquid. This will get rid of any grease on the rubber. Put it back on the Powerball and it should give excellent grip.
