How to get people to slow down

I've been showing the powerball to people at work. Some have gotten it and some haven't. The ones who can't get it generally go too fast, no matter how much we yell "Slower, slower". I read the advice to pretend that you are stirring with a big spoon and the like, but it doesn't always work. Any advice on getting beginners to slow down?

I've found, that for beginners, if you can get them to hold their forearm whilst trying to spin the gyro it helps to keep their hands from moving in the undesireable motion which stops the gyro spinning correctly. By doing this only the wrist will turn, making it easier to learn the motion.
