Okay, so I bought a powerball at an official retailer. I bought a lightless one, with a counter. That's when the trouble started. The first time I powered it up I heard a noise like some sort of a washing machine. So I thought, wtf? I read on this site that I have to open it, check whats broken and I'll get a new part. So that's what I did. Tried. The first part was clear, Lift the grip and take the screws out. Okay, did that. Then the guide started rambeling about some sort of a vise.

from the dictionary:
A clamping device, usually consisting of two jaws closed or opened by a screw or lever, used in carpentry or metalworking to hold a piece in position.

Okay, so should I twist it open? Tried to. Both ways. But it didn't work. So I tried pushing on the "Jaws", nope, nothing. Maybe just pull the cap off? Nope, not that eather. So I put the screws back in, grip on it again, and powerballed some more. But now it makes even more noise! It peeps, it sounds like it's slipping on something, and more noises!

Now what? Should I just send you guys the ball?

As far as your vise problems go - you basically just want to squeeze it really hard - harder than your hand grip... perhaps put it under a hard cover book that you dont mind denting the cover of, and sitting on it gently, or not so gently depending oin your weight. if you hear the pop sound you probably got it. good luck

Okay.. But, how to sit on it? Should I sit on the jaws, the counter/ball side, or perhaps just on a gripside?

You are misinterpreting the word "vise".

Vise is not any part of the ball, a vise is used in work shops to clamp to anything that you want to work on. In fact, a vise has many uses and the use that is intended for the powerball is to squeeze the powerball with the vise. The "jaws" of the vise is that part that touches the powerball and is where the powerball is held into place and squeezed.

Where you took the screws out is where you want the jaws to hold the powerball. Then you turn the vise handle to increase the pressure until you hear a pop sounds. Then you powerball should easily come apart.
