I received my Powerball today and was surprised to see the ball actually being able to travel about 1 mm vertically inside its housing.
I thought it, being a high precision, ultra high speed revving gyroscope, ought to be more tightly fit?
The vertical travelling is accompanied by some "clicking" sounds as it touches down on the opposite side.
I captured a few short videos of the effect as I moved it up and down on a table (non revving):
