View Full Version : Bicep WorkOut
I don't have a PB yet, but it seems really great for your arm. My question is, "Does powerball effectively work the bicep?" If so, what type of technique should I use? Thanks.

Hello Jordan.
And thank you for your question earlier.
For such a fun based product, Powerball is hugely complex in its manner of operation and can offer your entire arm a very vigorous workout within a very short time frame.
Currently lacking on our site (and I'll put my hands up for the blame on this) is a series of images which depict the various muscle groups being tested while holding a fast spinning Powerball in your hand. Ordinarily a simple task, the difficulty in illustrating this with a Powerball is simply the fact that depending on the aspect of your arm relative to the body and the direction in which you are rotating your wrist, your shiny new Powerball is impacting on a completely different muscle group each time.
For example, I am left handed and left handed people will generally benefit by rotating the wrist in an anti clockwise direction (right handed people prefer clockwise - its all down to natural body co-ordination preferences). So; if I extend my arm out and down and if I begin rotating my wrist in an anti clockwise direction and start building speed on the rotor, the muscles that Powerball is working in this particular movement is the lower inner forearm group (and the wrist area itself, in addition to the hands and fingers - this is a constant when ever you use the ball).
Change wrist rotation to clockwise (with Powerball, you can do this in a split second - you don't have to stop or even slow down) - and immediately you will start to work the upper, outer forearm muscle group.
Raise your arm to the classic body builder pose (as if you were going to arm wrestle someone) and your Powerball will now starting working the bicep region, again, depending on wrist rotation direction.
Extend the arm out, so that the hand is at shoulder level this time and you'll give the shoulder area a thorough workout...
Again, all of this will be better supported by a series of images to illustrate the points made above and we'll work on incorporating them into the site for future reference - I hope the above descriptions were of some use in the meantime Jordan and thank you once again for your inquiry.
Regards
Rory
that was very helpful, thankyou.

I would highly recommend a new "exercises" section complete with line art pictures and videos illustrating a variety of "workouts". What do you think?

I dunno how much money you make from this poweballing... atm I have 4 powerballs.. one for my left hand, one for my right hand.. one to lend out when ppl want to try the powerballing experience.. and one spare just in case I loose one or one is stolen by future addictees..he he he..
But.. this page REALLY NEEDS some exercise illustrations.. like.. Flash Animations that shows from various angles how to hold the arm that can illustrate/animate and show angles that the hand is held at.. rotiational direction and how its rotated.. some 3D app rendering with a NPR should be able to accomplish this if theres any skilled people around..
.. point is.. heh if u make any money off these things.. spending some of that to get some well made animations/illustrations that show off how to use the powerball to its greatest effect in cooperation with some doctors.. some powerbal proffessionals and some good illustrators/animators would be a beyond good idea.. it would in fact be EXTREMELY useful also as an advertising tool..

I agree.. an excersise and instructions sections could maximise output and give people considering buying a better look into what you can do with a ball.

I agree. I just got my powerball and would like to see how to use it to work the puuer arm and shoulder. A short video clip showing how to do the various excercises would be great. BTW, I was impressed how quickly I got the ball living in the USA.

Is there any progress on this area of the website? I think diagrams would be a good way of showing how to work different muscles. Tim
