I just got a powerball and when i'm pulling the string it the plastic tip of the cord keeps getting caught and whips off the Powerball. This has caused the plastic tips to break off my string :( Am I starting it wrong or something?

The same thing used to happen to me. Try pulling the string downwards, against the body of the ball, in as straight a line as possible. It helps to visualise the pull of the string before you pull it.

Yes I had that trouble when I first got mine aswell.
As steve said before try pulling it in a straight line, you can also pull it a litlle less hard if you want and work it up to a higher rpm with your wrist action.
I was also thinking that you should be able to buy replacement strings, for people who have this problem and have not learnt the other methods of starting without the string yet.

i think replacement strings are free....not sure about that

but i've only been powerballing for 2 weeks and learned how to finger start in the first day. prolli takes about 10 minutes to learn, it gets rid of the string forever.

The replacement strings are free and I figured out a way to start it without the cords and not doing the finger flick. All you have to do is start the powerball at the bottom of your hand and roll it as fast as you can up your hand towards the tips of your fingers while you pull the Powerball downwards. Hope this helps.

that works.......or just sit down.....

and roll the powerball from the top of your thigh all the way to your knee

don`t roll the powerball on your leg because it will collect a LOT of dust.
