i picked up my blue neon pro from the post office yesterday at 11:00 am...i've not been able to put it down since!it's now sunday 22:20...iv'e had to pop it open some 7/8 times to clean it, 'cos ALL of my friends have dropped it and it's gotten dirty and the circumfrence ring has become a little dented! As a bit of a nerd who likes to konw how things work,i've found that a bit of a polish with some jewller's rouge(a really fine abrasive polish) and some 1200 wet and dry abrasive paper restores it's smoothness and the relevant amount of friction required to enable the unit to run.
on another note,i've already had to make some new 'rip cords'...the cords that come with the powerball dont hold out for long in untrained hands...the 'floogle-binders' come off really easily if the starting technique is'nt familiar to a beginner...i'v'e already had to remove three little plastic tubes from my powerball due to bad starts!
so i made my own....3 lengths of embroidery thread 20 inches long with a lttle piece of wire insulating shield, some super glue and a few well tied knots! i get a startup rpm of about 3500 depending on how hard you can yank it! if you gyro nuts out there would like to know how to make these rip cords, please e-mail me at the following address: andyl@jerseymail.co.uk and i'll try and explain how i made them!
p.s.
as the rip cords i've made are made of cotton they have no stretch factor like the cords supplied with the unit, therefore, correctly applied, the longer, thinner cords give higher rpm's at starting the unit....
p.p.s
any user feedback will be appreciated 'cos i love my powerball!
