I doubt it is a mistake in technique. You should probalby just visit fitess more often.

If I can get 11,700+ and im only 14 (the youngest age you should be using one) I don't see why anyone else can't get as good as me. I'm not muscly either. When I changed my technique (spinning towards me (like a bicicle in reverse) rather than away) I suddenly started getting about 2k higher than before, so I would say it was your technique.

The key is little circles. If you keep using huge arm movements and large wrist circles, you will never get good speeds. Also, practice will strengthen your forearms like you can't even imagine right now. Keep going, and when you get your best speed TIGHTEN THE CIRCLES! And try to use only your wrist! Watch the Akis videos to get an idea of world-class technique. When you get above 14k it's basically impossible to keep the arm still, but Akis gets those tiny, tight wrist circles every time.

Absolutely Fraser!
At those really high speeds, we find that the wrist is locked solid and it is the arm that is sustaining the spin!
The key, therefore, is to have the ability to lock that wrist joint so that it doesn't break under the huge strain imposed by the high revving rotor and then a good strong forearm to push past the point of no return...!! Regards, Rory
