HI all,

I recently got the metal ball, this is mainly for my RSI, can anyone tell me if this has helped them (or should i not have got the metal ball for this?)

Many thanks all

Ooooooh, straight to metal. Thats brave ;)

I have never personally had an RSI but plenty of people on here have and found great benefits from using their powerballs.
The metal is A LOT harder than the 250Hz models, but providing you are not going for fantastic speeds you should be OK, just take it easy.

What body part is suffering with RSI? I will put forward some "how much and how long" answers for you.

I'm starting to regret getting the metal one straight away tbh (although ive not been able to actually get it to work yet!)

I have RSI in both my wrists and hands

Thanks for the help!

RSI (as you no doubt know) is by continuously straining the same muscle all the time. (I guess thats why it is called..repetitive strain injury).
Muscles are similar in nature to rubber bands. If you gently play with a rubber band for 5 minutes then stretch it really fast it will spring back nicely and be happy.

If you pick it up and try that straight away it will either crack or snap.

Working out promotes blood flow to the area, which in turn promotes healing. If you start out gently with the powerball and spin it between say 3 and 7k rpm for 5 minutes or so at a time its a beautiful soft workout that shouldnt harm your rsi, but WILL get the blood flooding in there to repair your already injured muscles..think of it like rehab in a box.

Of course you cant rush it..:P cant pick up a powerball with a sprained wrist and try for world record..you will probably hurt yourself more...the metal ball will just be like doing a nice relaxed workout with say..5kg dumbells.

The 250hz balls would be the same with maybe 3kg weights..the key is to get that muscle moving so it feels nice (sort of like stretching after a big workout..when you feel it in the muscle).

I dislocated my shoulder a few months ago and I was told it will ache a lot (I'm a HUGE guy, and it took them 6 hours to get back in..in the end they called a security guard to help them stretch the muscles of my arm out, while the doctor guided the joint together again.
All I can say is thank the Lord for general anesthetics lol.

Anyways I did feel pain..mostly in the mornings when I first moved it I would wince from the pain a little then it would free up and be ok.

I don't work for, nor do I get any profits from saying this. Its no gimmick and I'm not a fanboy. (Well I am, but this is the truth lol).

Since I have been powerballing My shoulder barely hurts. My guess is The way I hold it when I play is using my shoulder lots, once again causing blood flow and healing..I'm not a doctor all I know is before powerball there was pain. Now there isn't.

You will most likely find your RSI will be a thing of the past soon enough, and you will be in better health all together.

Chances are you will be addicted to powerballing...The more you play the more your muscles will stay ready to work, and you will hopefully never have to go through the pain of RSI again.

Once again I'm not affiliated with RPM Sports or anyone else from here... These are my personal experiences and are not medically proven.

Don't regret the metal PB. It is an amazing piece of kit. And don't worry that you have not got it going yet, it really does take practice.

I agree with Tyson, when you have got the hang of it, spin the ball for a few minutes a day, at low revs. 3-5k should be enough for now. You are aiming to make the offending body part ache a little. The moment it starts aching stop and rest until the following day.
Aim for a speed that allows around 5-6 minutes of spinning. If you start aching before 5 minutes, slow down. If its not aching at 6 minutes speed up.
Eventually you will find a speed that aches at 5-6 minutes and after a few days at this speed you will find yourself spinning it faster.
Within 2 weeks, you will most likely notice less pain in your day to day activities and thats the moment when you need to kiss your little powerball and recommend them to all your friends! ;)

Good luck

I got it from guitar (dam sweeping!) using the PB at a slow speed is good for untensing the muscle
