Hi!
Managed to borrow my friend's PB (neon blue) while waiting for another one.
I joined the Gyrotek Live Competition and got 12251 and 5186 in 30s. Never really tried 30s runs, so we'll say that's my new record, and 12251 is not so far from my actual record :)
I should recieve a new regular PB tomorrow, will keep you informed.

Edit: forgot to mention 12251 was RH, i did 10852 with LH

Just recieved my new PB (regular amber), i was already warmed up (out of basketball) so i gave it a try and got 12761 :D

I really hope to break 13k on vacation, maybe who knows 13.5k so i would be in top 400! (but i don't really count on it)
My wrist hurts :o, guess i came back to PB too fast, but i can't help it! :D

Hey there!
Just finished wrapping my PB to put it in my luggage :(
I hardly resist the desire to unwrap it and try again to beat my highscores!
I'll have to wait til saturday, hope a bit rest will have a positive effect.
Til then, no new scores! Actually til the end of august... Won't have internet

I really improved my LH in august, and i am now closer than ever to 13k with my RH.

Thank you, i'm glad this inspired you :)
I find it quite interresting to see the evolution, for example i injured my right thumb the 10th day and that's when I really started concentrating on my LH, which clearly appears on the graph.
I'm starting my first year of medicine studies and in France it's quite hard so I don't have much time to practice but I don't intend to let it down...

Good luck on hitting 13k! And I will record some of my speed attempts I powerball as well and also wanna race to 13k? I am sure it will be fun (just as soon I replace the batteries in my counter)

Hi Bigzebra...

A few months ago I had the same problems as you, I made my January record with my left 13.200 at those time ( I'm right :confused:), and a few weeks later, I recovered the force of my right hand and started doing better scores with that hand... ( the left didn't pass 12k at that time). Now I'm better again with my right and my left make 12.800 or so...

My left hand still is improving... 12790 whereas i couldn't get over 12.4k with my RH this session :confused:
Also 15414 in 90s, almost my record but i guess the RH isn't helping a lot...

Edit: Just had a few more tries with my RH, successively 12.8 and 12.7k so it seems i had the wrong movement...
I think this hand needs more warm up and i have to really concentrate on the gesture

I had another session tonight, new 30s records:
RH: 5647-> 5698
LH: 5200-> 5358
and a few 12.8k scores (RH) with a 12880 best. Looks like i'm finally back at my "best" level!

edit: just did 12811 LH

Hey all
My right hand has just been doing CRAP for a few days now! I struggle to make 12.6k...
But my left hand is still improving, just did 12714 that's almost a 100 rpm jump.
I don't understand why my right arm is so weak, nothing bad happened to this arm... For example right now my left arm feels normal (finished a session 15 mn ago) while my right arm still is hard as stone(you know when you warm up too fast it gives this sensation)
If this goes on, i'm gonna break 13k with my LH while my RH goes backwards...

edit: i am so worried about this i just started another session and beat my 30s lh record: 5200->5214

I just had a litle session, a few 30s to warm up: LH 5358->5525
Wow looks like my LH is in shape today!
Let's try some speed runs... 12.7k 12.8k 12.6k... 12950 LH!! new record! I keep going... 13039 YAYYYYYYY FINALLY 13k!!!! powerbalyzer shows ~13.2k for a short time :) another try... 12978 LH definetely close to 13k!

So i finally did it, and my RH is not very good these times but it's not hopeless (12912 yesterday and 54xx 30s today)

edit: just tried my first 90s only LH 13721 and another 90 only RH 14235

red-edit: Just a last try... you know, let's try a last time before i put it down... 13111 OMG...

how many tries did you have? maybe if you try like thirty times each hand you will get more :D

I think i had something like 7-8 tries before my first 13k+ then 2-3 tries (12k9->12k5) then i had some rest, then endurance and finally 13111 after a bit of rest (1st try, the others 12k7 or so)

This was achieved with my Left Hand, which is now becoming way faster than my Right Hand (compared to 2 months ago when my RH was 1k rpm above my LH)
I will try a session with only my RH soon(er or later) to see if it's definetely overtaken or if there's still hope (though i'm pretty sure it can reach 13k)

Plus this is a 332 rpm jump... I must say i'm satisfied tonight with powerball (even if the top 400 is closer than ever:rolleyes:)

P.S: Don't bother the "DOWN" thing, it's the monthly code for Gyrotek.net

Big congrats!!! very nice "jump" :D seems that everybody is doing better than me in these times :D. Anyway nice! I think your RH will improve soon aswell and your hands will be balanced again. I dont know how about you but when I do a speed run with Only right hand without help of left I do like 13000 to 13300 (at the moment..) when I spin it in left to its maximum then change to RH I get +2xx or 3xx revs depends on right grip in RH. today I didn't do it very well so highest was only 13420, next session will be 13.5 or 13.6 if i have my fingers healed a bit. I think it depends a lot in the moment when you change hands.. i have to perfect it so i would get the best of it then i think i could break my record. What a about you?

I hope they will be balanced again!
I try to use only one hand for my speed runs, to me it's more correct, because it's the score you can really achieve with your hand, not the score you can achieve by pushing up another score by a little...

But if 13.5k continues to be unreachable for me, i think i'll try to use both hands succesively:p
The problem is if i want to be efficient i have to hold the powerball the rotor facing my palm (not really a problem though) and rotate the opposite direction i'm used to (that's the problem) so i can't achieve decent speeds!:(

On an older powerball i used to change hands with my usual direction but it seems that it does put a lot of mechanical stress on the components, because that meant the rotor would change direction while spinning fast (~12.6k counter clockwise to clockwise)

hmm.. yeah the dircetion change in high speed is higly dangerous for your powerballs lifespan :D Im really not sure about this hand changing... my metal best was achieved with using only RH.. but it's a little different technique.

Now...i'm opposite than you Armitage i like doing 250Hz one-handed and 350Hz two-handed (this way it seems i get better scores)

Congrats Bigzebra, 13.450 is a very nice score for me, indeed if you make that in a tournament in Chile, you will win a Metal or in second place a Neon Pro...:D (They said to me that maybe in November will be a tournament:cool: )

Let's see a 15k next week :D :p hehe, 13.5 will come very soon...;)
