Well I havent used a 250hz in about 1 week as I was just doing metal and I was saying I cant even do 13k except for the 1 time. Well today I picked up my friends new 250 Pro and banged out a 13,119 on my first try... Dont have time to get into hot mode as today is rest day but will try again maybe tomorrow. Yesterday I did a 11,741 so 12k here I come... nce again if anyone wants to try and give me a suggestion on technique as I am all arms here is a link to my 11,440 video. Tim already gave me some pointers for which I thank him but I am always open for suggestions...

Anyway today is rest day but I might try a metal when my friend comes into work but as always, keep powerballing...:)

Hi!
I'm not very experienced, but form what i read on this forum, i would give you the following advices:
Make 30 and 90 runs to build your strength, your record should improve
I'll see on the video, but maybe you need to reduce the size of the rotations you make with your wrist.
Try not PBing for an entire day, so your arm can fully recover...

13.1k straight out? Blimey, I sometimes don't get that much on my first spin, but when warmed up go on to achieve over 14.5k, so you can definitely go higher with the Plastic.

Well just did a 11752 with metal when my friend came in, will do some endurance and try again...

23-07-2007, 17:42
Well 3rd run I did 11,847, new personnel best. I will rest now till tonight and do a new video hopefully of 11.7000+... Well now I am constantly doing over 13k with the 250hz so the metal must really be helping me... I will send the new pic of the 11,847 to Tim but now I will not bother Tim till I get over 12k with Metal. As always enjoy powerballing...

gigabyte137
23-07-2007, 18:46
Well I said I wouldnt do more till I got home but my coworker Gervon pushed me.... I did 11,929.... To respect to Tim i will not submit until over 12k... Tonight I will camcord a run... Till then... Later

nice going on that metal :)

Only thing that struck me that you might be able to improve on is to hold the top speed for just a little longer. I know its easier said than done but try and focus on just keeping that max speed going for as long as possible, and not just peak quickly before "giving up" ;), this will give the counter a better chance at catching the true top speed.

Keep at it, good luck getting 12k with the metal, nice milestone to bag :D

Thanks for the tip Linus but at least for the 250hz when I use powerballanylser my top speed is the first peak and it just goes down with time. Maybe different with metal as it is slower and heavier... Will try it out tonight. Will post later... I am tired as my coworkr ws betting money with me so I didnt rest like I wanted today but will try tonight with camcorder... Later all...

Nice work on the metal. It always amazes me when people come along and are nearly 12k metal but only 13k plastic just goes to show how different the requirements for the two disciplines are. Keep going on the plastic though I'm sure it won't be long until you sail past 14k.

Is your 90's one hand only?

gigabyte137
24-07-2007, 05:02
Yes 90's are 1 hand only and constant spinning, no regrips or free spins in the middle. Are they good for 1 hand and no regrips?

24-07-2007, 05:07
not bad at all close to my best:)

gigabyte137
24-07-2007, 14:54
Yeah but it shows 18573 for your 90 sec... Is that both hands.... What do people get with just one hand constant spinning?

Adrena1in
24-07-2007, 16:45
My record is 17606 right-hand, and 16865 left-hand, but that was when I was really on form. I did it immediately after a single speed run, so might've gone higher when I was warmed up. :o

These days, at my best, I'd get around 16500.

I'm very pleased with my right-hand record with the Metal - 15407. ;)

15k 90s one-handed is very good gigabyte. I'm at about 16k on both arms gripper tech.

Some old thread Tim has read it too I believe

I can't find the thread where Akis states his record, but I'm sure I saw him say he's done 18.8k one-handed. The only video I can find is the one below, but it's pretty old...at my best I reckon I could match that score now! :p

EDIT: Found the thread...it was me who started it.

Hey, Pax, it looks like Michael's set you a bit of a target with the Metal! 12199! Considering his record just 5 days ago was 11258, he's making MASSIVE improvements.

Do you and he and Gervon concentrate a lot more on the Metal? I always wondered what sort of progress people would make if they focussed on just one, Metal or Plastic. You three are quite disparate though.

Pax ----- 13171 / 11929
Michael - 13626 / 12199
Gervon - 13558 / 11200

Looking at those scores I would expect your Plastic to go up by around 600 soon, and Gervon's Metal to go up to nearer 12k. I'd also expect Michael to hit 14k Plastic! :)

Yes Tim it is crazy here at work... gervon just did 11,455 with the metal but he doesnt care to much to post that much so I do all the talking.... I have a spreadsheet that I created for work that I will like you to see, I have about 18 people here at work doing it and have 5 spreadsheets on this one Excel spreadsheet. I will post it in this thread so you can take a look at it.... Keep in mind there are tabs at the bottom of the different challenges... you will see what I mean...

When you look at the Powdr Puff league, those are made up nicknames for people that cant get over 12k with the powerball... All for fun and jokes....
The Ultimate Challenege is doing a 30 sec run and recording, wait 1 min then a 60 sec and record, wait 1 min and a 90 sec run and record and wait 1 min then do a burst and add the scores up and that is your Ultimate score. Keep in mind we havent done that in about 1 month so they are all old scores. Also keep in mind all these score are all grip and no Eduard style and also not switching hands, same hand grip all the way... Enjoy

Well today Wednesday was first day Mike was back at work as he is covering for someone on other side of week. I knew I needed to push it harder to close the gap from the mighty Mike Barclay... Started at 11:30AM Eastern and banged out 5 runs with no warm-up as I see 30 sec runs don’t help me with metal but with plastic it does....

1st run - 11,486
2nd - 11,616
3rd - 12,118 - My new record
4th - 11,879
5th - 11,811

Now on for 12,300....
Tim you will see an updated pic coming your way and let me know if you need another video and I will do another but I usually do these at work as the coworkers give me motivation and at home I have no motivation where I can camcord them. I can’t bring a camcorder into work here unfortunately...

gigabyte137
25-07-2007, 17:22
Well I figured I will do a 30 sec run and beat my score and got 5,281...I slipped in middle as well... Next Sunday will try again...

Hello!
You're improving pretty fast!
Why do you think warm-up only helps you for metal?

P.S: With all these posts, when do you actually work? :p

gigabyte137
25-07-2007, 19:26
Well first of all I dont work that much, I do router support pay for support and get like 1 call a day in a 12 hr shift that lasts about 30 mins.... The other time I excersise and Powerball. Now as far as the Metal I dont think the 30 sec runs help me out as it tires my muscles maybe? But for the 250 I need the warmup because it teaches my muscles to do small circles. When I do metal runs I just do like 3 runs and wait a minute in between and most likely the 3rd is a new record.... As far as excersise I do 400 pushups a day with 8 sets of 50 wth an hour or so in between and curls with a excersise rubberband and use a handgrip in between every other day at work and when I get home benches and curls and lat pulldowns and tricep presses for about 30 mins every other day and then shower and collapse.... I powerball every other day mostly at work for money which I guess makes us push harder but at home just about 30 mins off and on... Well that is my workout routine for the week...

Certainly gives the arm a going over.
Wow that nackers em. Like to see what I could do in a hot mode. Keep that up and you'll be punching out some decent endurance scores in no time.

What do you get for 30/60/90 runs on your left?

26-07-2007, 09:12
I'm gonna have a go at that 30, 60, 90, speed thing too I reckon. Sounds like a good warmup! :)

Oh, and well done on the 12k Metal Pax. I'll need a video really, (even though I know already you're not a fraud), but rules are rules and they apply to everyone. :)

Big thumbs up for the Ultimate score idea Pax. I haven't had the burn like that for ages. Good to see some new ideas on the forum well done. I will use it as my endurance training for a while and see how I go. Lot less time consuming than hour runs. Did both hands after my hour session tonight finished me of nicely:rolleyes::rolleyes:

When you did your left then right LTL, I assume you did all four runs with one hand, then all four with the other? The Dual Hand UPC was almost the same score, which I can't quite understand!! :p

Your metal record ownz! Cool idea for the ultimate run, I'll have to try it sometime. But do you do LH and RH at the same time, or each hand individually?

gigabyte137
27-07-2007, 15:58
Each individually.... The whole run should last about 7 mins for both arms...

LTLFTC
28-07-2007, 01:36

Yes Left then right was 4 runs left hand then 4 runs right hand. The dual was both hands together which I videoed so i didn't have to stop to write the scores down. I never really noticed that they were close. I tend to do better on one hand endurance if I do them both together for some reason. Both my 90's records left and right are when I was doing a dual run.

I just realised if I add up my individual one hand records for each discipline. I only get to 47750 so I am looking forward to the 50k vid:p. I think this would be a good one to express as a percentage of potential my best so far 42706/47750=89.4% for right hand

gigabyte137
28-07-2007, 05:14
If I do a percentage I get 89.5%
45,140/40,419

The thing is with me though is I did that Ultimate about a month ago so I have to assume I will kill my last score...

Second problem is both my reg 250hz pb and my Signature balls are not spinning past 10k as they slip on the horizontal axis. I think I sanded them too far down from cleaning them. I have to send them in to get repaired. That should take a couple of weeks but in meantime will practice up with metal so when I get them back hopefully I will get 43k-44k in the Ultimate....
