Hi all. Just figured I'd start up a thread with my own scores. My Powerball arrived in the mail last night, and after fiddling around with a while, my current top RH score is 11518. Not all that high, but hopefully good for the first night!

Very good score for the first night/day.

Well done and welcome to the forums.

Keep spinning and posting us updates on your progress.

Thanks for the warm welcome. These boards are a terrific motivator for PB. I like that despite being competitors, everyone encourages the other along. It reminds me of when I used to fence. You'd have a bout, then as soon as it was finished you'd shake hands and become fast friends. I miss that.

I'm hoping with some dedication I'll be able to move up through the ranks. 12K is going to be my first milestone, so hopefully I'll be able to get there soon.

Thanks again for the reception. Looking forward to posting my progress.

Hi Phoenix, and have another welcome from me. 11.5k on your first night is very good...definitely above average. I think you'll find 12k easy, and will be looking at 13k in a few weeks.

I had a go at fencing once. I wanted it to be like the "Man in Black -v- Enigo Montoya" scene from "The Princess Bride", but, not surprisingly, it wasn't. Ah well, it was a laugh.

Ahh yes, the Princess Bride. Great flick, and a favorite of fencers everywhere. Many times during practice, a bout would begin with, "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you." with the reply, "You seem a decent fellow, and I hate to die!"

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm looking forward on Saturday to spend some serious time with my PB. After going at it pretty hard the last couple of days, my hands are quite sore from gripping the ball, and I think that is holding me back a now. I also think I'll do some more 30s and 90s runs to try to build technique. Lay down the technique fundamentals and hopefully the speed will follow.

Hi Phoenix! 11518rpm is a great score for starts, much higher than most people. 30, 60, and 90s runs are great for building technique, strength, and endurance so you will definitely want to do a lot of those. But of course you should take it easy the first few weeks, start with some endurance here and there, and gradually work up to more(with plenty of resting days in-between)

You're about one of the first Canadians I've seen around here, its good to see more and more international powerballers popping up.

Hi Phoenix

Nice to see you've signed up and made
a nifty little thread. Post how you get on on
sunday I'll be interested to see :)

Thanks for the complement and advice Installed. I do think the 30, 60, and 90s are really going to help build up strength, but I will keep the over-training in mind. I'm taking a rest day today, although other than my hand being sore from gripping the ball, my arm doesn't feel all that bad.

I also noticed that there seemed to be a relatively small contingent here from Canada. The Canadian Mini-league doesn't have any entries on it, so I will probably post a score there once I get into the 12k's. I'm glad to see how active the Powerball community is, it certainly is moving to be an international sport. It's great how its possible to complete at a distance, and I look forward to taking part in a 'Live' event sometime soon (though mostly for experience and perhaps a personal best).

Also, thanks to Pete for the welcome. I'll be sure to update the thread on Sunday, and hopefully we'll see some progress.

This morning I had a quick session before work, and hopefully later on today I'll be able to have another. I managed to figure out the finger start, so I can do away with the rip cord. I did a speed run, a couple 60 sec runs, then another speed run. That time, I felt my technique change a bit, and the sound from the ball pitched higher than I had heard it before, so I knew it was a pretty good score (for me). 11804, and I really feel now that 12k is right there, and hopefully I'll be able to get it this weekend. Probably Sunday, as I have a couple free hours.

I just had a good little session, where I have the new score of: 12228. My arm doesn't feel too bad, so I'm going to try to have another session tomorrow! Now, on to 13K! Thanks for the support!

I was able to have a really good session today. Worked mainly on my 30s times, as well as speed runs on both hands. I was able to smash through the 12k barrier this weekend, bring the new record to 12416. I was able to consistently get scores in the mid 11k, and occasionally get some low 12's. My personal best came exactly the same way as the last. About 10 minutes after the session was over, I picked it up for one more spin and smashed my old record by about 200. 12.5k seems to be just around the corner and hopefully 13k is not too far away either. Not going to spin again until Tuesday to let everything get rested. Very happy with my progress so far.
