Good morning...

5 A.M. here and I just had to share a video of our 8 year-old grandson getting his highest score on camera before I go to bed.

Corey got 8341 last night and I was lucky enough to catch it. If I'd taken a few more, he reached a new high score of 8423. He seems to try to emulate JEZ (that's great) and doesn't get to Powerball all that much, but he gives it his all when he does try.

I'm sure he'll be looking at himself online when he wakes up because I sent this link to his dad to show him. He'll be a happy and proud little guy for sure.

Hope you enjoy.

'night...

That's a great score for an 8 year old.

Well done Corey. ;):D

Sadly, video link doesn't work for me.

Did you get the web address right?

Seems to be trying to link to www.powerballs.com/etc, but the flv format is what is normally used by photobucket.

Would like to see the vid and show it to my son, give him some inspiration and a target to go after. :)

worked fine for me, just download the file and play it with something like Classic media player or Flash Player.

Btw really great score for an 8 year old :D Hopefully he sticks with it and keeps practicing.

Ah, it's just my problem then :o

Don't have anything that can play it.

Edit: Bit long-winded but, I downloaded the vid then uploaded it to photobucket and watched it that way.

Will see about showing the vid to my son to try and inspire him to push for 7k. ;) :D

Here's the full link on PhotoBucket that PaDavid sent me originally. Should work for anyone in a browser;

Nice video, the little fellas got good technique ;)

If you encourage him to hold it down then he might be able to
reach a higher score.

Jake Vs Corey :D

Someone should make a Jack Vs Corey thread ..

Hello everyone.

Glad everyone is enjoying the video, looks like I'd better keep fresh batteries handy when Corey comes over again. He's proud of the fact that he is the only one in his family that can start the Powerball without the string.

Hi Pete! He also spins at the top and quickly spins it down, but this was just one of those other times. :)
I guess his technique will change as he grows stronger.

JEZ, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. After he got home last night, he raised his own bar again with an 8586 new high score that his dad informed me about by email this morning. :D

He sure likes his "Screamer"...he listens to it while he's spinning and can tell if he hits his stride or not without looking. He's fun to watch as he gives it his all. ;)

Wow, he has great technique! Corey's ability to thumb start and to rev that Powerball above 8000 with almost no visible effort is definitely a level above some adults I know that have tried out my personal Powerballs. And he's only 8! I've seen grown adults visibly struggle to get just a 6000 to 7000 score - some people just do not have the technique for it.

This guy is a natural! Way cool! :D

This is a glimpse into the future of Powerballing, my friends!

Always Powerballing,

Hi Duane.

Thanks for commenting! Corey does seem to do better than some people that have the advantage? of age and strength on him...just ask his gramma', mom and soon to be 17 year-old sister.

Just got another email from his dad a bit ago...new score of 8603 tonight. I think this gave the little guy a big boost in confidence, always good. :D
