View Full Version : muscle?
Has anyone actually seen an improvement in either strength or muscle size solely from using powerballs and not doing any extra weights or exercising?
Yep, I only use powerball, and my forearm is big and my arm is rocksolid, (compaired to the rest of me)

My muscle definition isn't that impressive, but my arms and shoulders are a fair bit bigger than they used to be, and nowadays I don't exercise at all apart from Powerballing. (Cycling and walking the dog don't really work the arms that much!!) ;)

Yes, most definitely. I did Kickboxing for 3 years which helped with muscle size but powerball is actually more effective on my arms. You can incorportate powerballing into the rest of your body as well. (Doing a dual run while in a squat.) :)

POwerball has improved my forearm definition loads..
My fingers have got bigger from all the Powerball forum entries I post.
;):D
Not seen a great increase in muscle mass, but tone and definition in arms and shoulders have improved.
to add to One-eye's post I can do pressups on my fingers, not palms, and can do it without bother, I think thats from powerballing!
Before power balling I was a 50 kg weakling now I can do push ups on my thumbs only. I wasn't but I can do push ups on my thumbs and two finger chinups. Haven't tried one finger for ages.

Serious? Thumb pressups? I can do index finger and middle finger with some balance support from the thumb, but thats as far as I can go.

Ouch!
OP, I have to say that I have seen a huge improvement in muscle definition in my forearms, biceps and shoulders from my use of a Powerball over the past number of years.
I don't use them for speed but have certainly found that they tone and strengthen muscle very effectively!

I've seen some guys doing one-finger chinups, and it just looks painful. I also remember, years ago, seeing some guy doing one-arm press-ups on just his thumb and forefinger, and it looked like his forefinger was going to snap!!
Saw a vid of a guy doing clap pull-ups the other day and double clap press-ups (clap in front and behind back).
Crazy what some people have trained themselves to do.

I can clap while lodging a pint of beer inbetween my legs while sitting on a chair which is probably more useful than that guy in the tutorial.:D

I could just about do a single-clap, (infront), push-up. :o

Do you do any other exercise at all?, thats pretty impressive for powerball only!!
(was it the 350hz that made the biggest difference or was most of the gain from a 250hz regular?)
Cheers,
N.
Edit P.s, probably the most obvious question i've missed, how long have you been powerballing for?
What an Idiot I am!, just noticed in your sig you started in May '06, lol!

Tigga, you just make your forearm LOOK big because you posted a huge image. (I just approved it, (attachments don't immediately go through, just in case someone posts something they shouldn't!!), and didn't realise it was such a large image.)
But yes, that's a pretty massive forearm. Not all from using a Powerball I'm sure! :)

Ooops! Sorry :(
woohoo first post. AHEM...
I've been using the powerball since... i'd say january, (can't remember exactly) and my forearms have definatly seen an increase in size from it. (i already had fairly big forearms because i've been touch typing since i was about 7 years old. Its a pretty good way to build up forearm muscle :P)
But the powerball has definatly seen an increase in the size of my forearms (rest of my arm, not so much)
Jesus Christ, Tigga, do you do forearm dumbell exercises or is that just from the Powerball?

The surprising thing for me is that yes, my forearms are much more well defined now, but they havent got any bigger i dont believe. The real size difference has been in my biceps from using the 350Hz metal.
I am genetically blessed to be reasonably toned, I do notice that my shoulders bulk up it I do a lot of hour runs. And it does keep my triceps in pretty good nick.

I find its good for just about my whole arm, bar grip releasing muscles and fat tissue. I'm seriously wondering if Maddonna got her ridiculous veins from powerballing, as it has a similar effect on me.
Just wondering-Weve all seen fingertip pressups, I can just about manage on two thumbs, but can anyone go on just teh other four fingers? The thought popped into my head as i was considering the evolution of the horse (Middle finger). Anyhoo probably rambled enough for one post.

Just to also add to this old thread.
When I was doing nothing but powerballing and was regularly scoring 15K+ my forearms got bigger and the vasularisation was insane. The biggest thing though was my bicep size. My biceps grew almost 2 inches in size!!!! That is a lot in anyones book. I am luckily blessed with being able to put on muscle easily but that still shows how good the powerball can be.
