Hey everyone, I've received my powerball a few weeks ago (getting to 12 000 rpm ^^) and I'm planning to buy a Phantom as soon as it's available.
When searching the forums I see it should have been released at the end of 2004 but was delayed because of the success of the 250Hz model.

Now can we know when to expect it, and if there's a chance of having an updated speed meter on it (one that bips at the end of the 30/60/90 seconds for exemple ^^)

thanx

_Junky

PS : and IMO the "forum" would be much better with newer posts at the top of the page, and dates so that you know how old it is ^^;

Thanks Junky - you are right about the forum and this is due to be changed shortly with posts split into different sections so that it will be easier to source valuable information from the texts. Please stay tuned. (The success of the forum took us a little by surprise).

The Phantom? Yes, he is a little delayed - sorry about this. He was originally due to make his debut in October of last year but went back for further tweaks to make it even faster. The success of the other products have also added to this delay in that all powerballs are quite manually intensive in their production techniques and so it's not as easy to ramp up new lines to help supply meet with demand.

A good complaint in one way and bad in another.

I've seen the photos of the new powerball and they are looking pretty damn ****.

I noticed that it said Akis has had a go at one but only managed to get it up to 12K. How on earth is anyone going to manage to get it to the theoretical 20K???

I'm a little disappointed that they haven't made any improvements to the "ergonomics" of the counter on top. But I guess from a production cost perspective, it wasn't viable.

If you're reading Akis, could you give us some feedback on how you found the performance of this new model? I'm interested to know if you like the power of it better than the top speed of the original? Are there any problems with it, like is it harder to get a good grip etc.?

Hi Pat. The 350Hz will initially ship with a heavy rotor for power training work - even Akis struggled to hit 12k with this. Soon after, a lightweight rotor (Screamer!) is planned with which we are confident Akis will break the 20k barrier - the Screamer rotor will have aero fins to ensure it does exactly as the name suggests once you start hitting the high end of the range while the heavy rotor will run quietly but with deadly force.
