View Full Version : Noob Score
Hi, Ive got my powerball now and i love it. Its so fun and addictive.
first of all i was getting awful scores.
But them pulling hard on the sore they were improving.
My first goes were ok and my high score is now 7089. That sounds bad but ive just started and want to get much better.
Any tips on how to get better would greatly be appreciated.

To get better simply practice. Once you've been doing a week or 2 you will have a technique which can then be tweaked. Until then not much advice to give.
You will see your score improving a lot in the first week or 2.

Welcome to the forum! A good tips is to browse the forum and take your time. Especially the technique thread. I'm sure you'll find good tips from all your fellow powerballers!!

Hey RB,
Just keep practicing. Your first few weeks will be where you get accustomed to the spinning motion of the Powerball. Enjoy these times as the Powerball action will feel great in your hands and arms. Practice the Powerball at moderate speeds until you gain the strength to really power it up for records.
Soon, almost before you know it, you may start logging scores in 10k-12k range. You will improve almost daily. You will then a comfortable technique that you like to work with as you Powerball.
Be sure to watch the videos available. Watch as many as you can - anywhere you can find them. Check out the forums for posts from people who are in 10k - 12k range and learn what they did to progress. Much of this range will just come from practice.
When you get to 13k, you will have to change your technique somewhat to inch above 14k. One you get to 14,500 you'll have to change again and give more push. As you hit 14,800+ you will have to believe you can hit 15k before you will. Once you get to 15300, you have to add in an extra push to launch it into the magic zone betwee 15,500 and 15,800.
To get to 16k, which I have yet to do, you will have to be fully-rested, have plenty of reserve strength available for the session, get the 16k sound ingrained in your brain, believe 15k is a low score, have a top-shape Powerball, give it all you got, give it more, call up the pulse of every cell in your body, have the planets aligned, perform during maximum tide during a solar storm, generate a cosmic rip in the time-space continuum, and pray that a miracle will occur on your counter...aaarrgh! ;) :)
But anyway... ...let's just focus on 10K for now.
Practice, practice, practice will always improve your scores and help you achieve your Powerballing goals.
Having the desire to improve your score is really half of the battle, so I expect to see some fantastic improvements from you soon. You will actually be surprised at what you can do once you focus on the goal.
Keep spinning!!

Welcome to the forums! As a recent joiner myself, my best advice would be to listen to the other guys here... and take their advice!
Don't try to turn balling into a fine art from the begining. Its addictive, you will want to do it a lot but your arms will want to fall off and you will need to have rest days. Trust me... I was there myself less than a fortnight ago :D
Just get used to how it sounds, how it feels in your hand. Speeds come with practice and time. In less than a month I've gone from 8.8k to 10.8k with the help and guidance of these forums :)

My Top Tip
Well it is really simple read some of the forum but more importantly find your own technique that works and feels comfortable don't worry to much if your technique is slightly different, trust me l was there once much to the amusement of many (in a kind way that was off course).
Do what works for you.
Best of luck;)
