Hi all,

Great news. Thanks to a truly wonderful piece of advice from Linus plus a more thorough warm up process I just spun a 10700. Think I've nailed the technique now too. I'll post future scores here.

I filmed it so will post here soon.

Don't worry my friend, your jump will come soon I promise. If you took a few days rest you could probably jump straight to 11k from where you are now. Rest does make a huge amount of difference.

Woah nice improvement dude. You'll be pushing for 12K not before long! :)

Thanks guys. Here's the vid.

Arran, if you gave it till Wednesday, had a warm up, then gave your hands a thorough wash and the powerball a quick wipe with a dry cloth I reckon you could hitt 11k there and then. You've put the work in that in my opinion you need to so just need to rest and you'll hit it no problem.

Nice vid, I can't wait til my signature arrives.

Thanks a lot,

Thought you'd got your sig? Oh well, can't be much longer now. Mine took two days.

Thanks for posting the video.

Look like you have a lot of potential, it doesn't look like your really going for it so put a little more of your arm strength into it instead of just hand and wrist and your score will quickly increase

Thanks Pete. I make it look really easy in the video as you can't see my scrunched up face. :D

If you look at the first part of the run you can see what I mean about shaking up and down. Is this bad for the Powerball?

Nice vid. The shaking of the ball is not entirely good for it, but I simply put it down to bad technique at the moment. If I may make a suggestion... I noticed that your grip on the ball might not allow your wrist to impact maximum force on the rotation of the ball. I'm no physicist, but I realised quickly, just by playing around with the ball in my hand, that if I change the way in which the ball lies in my hand I can actually feel the difference in the ball.

What I think is the problem here is that the force you apply with your wrist is not perfectly alligned with the rotation of the ball. Try and shift the angle of the ball in your hand slightly and see if the would make a difference...

Thanks Jammy. I'll have a session in the week at slower speeds and try different positions.

Apart from finding your best grip position, a good grip on the powerball is essential.

Clean your powerball and wash your hands to get the best grip you can.

You can also buy grip compounds, if you feel they're necessary, many top scoring powerballers use them.

I'm all natural tho :p;):D

I think I've got the best position but am trying to spin it faster than my limit by the shaking. Should just work up slower I think and let my rythym improve gradually. The new ball is different from the old one due to the counter being fitted and I've not spent much time using it, just the odd quick high speed session.

Will try to get thoroughly used to it this week.

Still working away at left wrist. Had a quick spin on my right but could only manage 10548.

Going to make the effort to use it a little bit everyday and pack in the hard sessions. Bit of relaxation required. :)

New record on left. 10406. Scary! Looks like my newly recovered left might actaully come is as the power hand. The technique is so much easier on my left. :)

The technique is so much easier on my left. :)

I've never actually felt my left-hand (weaker hand) technique has ever been better than my right, but there was a time when I could spin the Powerball faster with my left, certainly. I think it's possible to overdo it with one hand and actually cause it to slow down, at which point the less-used hand can take over. :)

I'm left handed you see. Much better at controling the ball with that hand but always been held back by wrist injury. You could be right though. I'll see what happens. So addicted to the ball.
