View Full Version : Post your crappy scores
Just a word out to everyone to ask if you can post your crappy scores as well. You know the hotmode that was more luke warm or tepid.
As a beginner I found it inspirational to read score sessions where the person was way off their best. Not in a sadistic way.
If eveyone posts just their best it can be a bit daunting for the newbies (me included) you think what's wrong with me why aren't I improving.
But if you see that wow this guys average score is only 80 90% of their best and they have seeions where they don't evev get close. It kind of gives you the drive to keep going. Even if when it happens to you you feel bloody frustrated.
Any way just a thought:rolleyes:

Well let's see, I've been powerballing for over 5 years now and my score is only 13123 rpm, admittedly alot of that time was only very casual spinning.
Since last November I've been pushing the hardest I ever have but I still find progess very slow going, often getting no where near my record.
Anything over 12.8k I would consider very good for me, it's often lower.
I find lots of newbies (you included :D) come along and race past my score in no time flat, which is a little frustrating.
I'm lucky if I get a new record once a month, and then it's only a few rpm, but hey, I'm getting there, it's just taking forever.
So yes, just keep on spinning and have patience, new scores will come, eventually.

(Well overdue a new record btw)

I'm in a bit of a speed "Cold Mode" at the moment, but that's partly because I've hardly been doing any proper Powerballing these past few weeks. One-hand endurance is pretty good, but speed not. 12.2k Metal right-hand and 11.3k left hand last night, was the best I could manage. About 650 right and 900 left rpm behind my records. :o
Aye, my metal has been a bit off the boil for a little too long now.
However, I stripped my metal down last night and replaced the original support band, washers and 'blue ring' (nothing wrong with the original one, but the new support band was too tight in it).
Rotor holes in the original support band were really reamed out, and the original washers had worn badly so there was also lateral play. No wonder it's been sounding a bit rough.
'Tis like new now, but still needs running in a bit I feel before I'm likely to make any advancement on my metal score.

I feel like I'm in an awful cold mode right now. It may have something to do with the fact that I have just been real sick, but even before that I had been really really sucking. My most recent sessions have only brought scores in the lower 13ks and yesterday I didnt get 13k one frigging time.... my whole technique is going down the tubes and I dont know what to do about it! :(

Sad to hear that Installed hopefully if you take a week or so off it should clear and you'll be back in form. But when scores don't appear it really does suck and it's frustrating too :o

Hey Installed dont give up, have you checked to see if your powerball isnt the problem ?
Maybe you have been overdoing it & need a rest or maybe its something real silly like the change in the weather, can being physically cold or hotter effect speed ?

I feel you're pain, buddy. Same on this side. Left hand is looking good, managing scores between 12700 and 12900 without even warming up, way better than what I considered to be a left hand record just a week ago. But right hand is a different story. With some warm up I'm real impressed when I hit 13600, most between 13400 and 13600 though. But as Duane said, this will only last for a while.

I too feel your pain. My right hand went on holidays for about two months and my left had the high scores for ages then suddenly out of the blue wham it caught up. Now it is happening agin left is going to town and right is hanging in their. Just know that all the spinning is doing some good and the scores will come

Thanks guys, at least now I know I'm not alone.
We should form the Brotherhood of the Weak@ss Scores... Time to snap out of it though. No way, no how a 14 year old (read: PeteMahemMayhew) is gonna beat me to 14k. Game time...

Well you'd better BE a star wars fan then!! :D
Thought i'd try a session last night. I usually don't back up two nights in a row and it was true to form. Couldn't break 13k with my right hand. Did one 90's run that felt great but I pushed the function button somewhere in the middle of it. Then the rotor went on my number one ball:eek: my technique must be imroving though I got about 5 months out of this rotor..
