Official Unofficial 90's Metal Scoreboard

In light of massive interest (at least 4 people) I have decided to instigate the
(drum roll) Official Unofficial 90's Metal Scoreboard. Yeah

So if like me Jarko Installed and Kolchin Rostislav (and probably thousands of others) you like it long and hard Poewerball wise that is then get your scores in and I will keep it up to date. If you feel the need to designat Ed Gripper or other feel free and I will note accordingly. If you do separate Ed and Gripper put em both in it will look like ther is more interest and the powers that be (Hi Tim) will get an official official board going.

Of cotse if you think its a WOFTAM or you are WAP then don't concern yourself with my ramblings

In honour of my brillint Idea I will kick it off as official world record holder for at least an hour or two until the scores come rolling in.:D:D

Nice idea, I've only done a massive 3 metal 90s runs (compared to 48 1 hour runs), best score so far is 12,616 which was probably grippy with ed change overs.

That puts me last, oh well :) .

I actually think the Metal is popular enough now to have a 90s League to be honest. Enda's working on the new website, which I think is going to have a new layout for the scoreboards. I've already seen he's added contingency for a 30s scoreboard, so let's hope he creates a 90s Metal scoreboard too. I'll transfer the Mini-League scores over when it happens.

And if you really want to pad the scoreboard out, put my right-hand (G) record in there too if you like...14912. :)

I have 16119 ed tech, but that was bad run and the ball wasn't in best shape. 17k shouldn't be too hard with ed tech, if everything goes right and the ball works.

I wasn't anywhere near on form the other night, (could only just hit 12k right and 11k left), and I wasn't warmed up, and my Ed Tech 90s run felt a bit rubbish, yet I still managed 16243. Not only that, but I watched the counter for the last five seconds, so I was coasting. When I'm in hot mode I think I could do 17.5k+.

That sounds about right. Off form recently I've done 18k 90s ET with the Plastic and 16.2k with the Metal.

However, on form I should be able to do 16.5k to 17k with the Metal using the Gripper technique...hmmm, not so sure about that. :rolleyes:

Looks like I'm a little late here! I'm glad people are starting to get more interested in metal 90s. Ever since I was temporarily at the top of the gyrotek scoreboard, I've been all hyped up about it, and I definitely think it deserves a place in the divisions of the official world scoreboard.

And wow, I must say I'm very impressed by Rostislav, Jarkko, and Tim's recent scores.

Man, with all this competition roaring, I may just have to give another shot at it! I have gotten upper 15ks several more times after my highest score of 15940. One time I was sure I had 16k, but when I looked at the counter, I had accidentally pushed one of the buttons midway through the run! :(

Do you have it on video?Unfortunately not. :o As usual I surprised myself. I'm in Endurance mode today though...cycled to work and was going up hills in 2 or 3 gears higher than normal, with very little effort.

Because I'm in Endurance mode I could only improve a little on my 90s Ed Tech score...16278. My left hand is just rubbish, and top speeds with right at the moment are only about 12.2k, left about 11.3k. When I'm in speed mode I'll go for 17k. You or Rostislav will be first. :rolleyes:

The metal is VERY ,very hard. It needs a lot of practise and I'm really not strong enough yet. But I'll just need to be stubborn and persistant. Then maybe I'll score better. It seems like I'm more of an endurance than a speed powerballer. But I'd really like to be better at speed. I NEED to get to 13k in regular and 10k in metal. But technique is BAD. No sign of oscillating here....:mad:

Sorry to hear that, I too have some raw patches on my hands after my session yesterday.

Resting and letting your hands heal is the right thing to do, but it's hard when Powerballs just want to be in your hand and spinning.

Hope your hands don't take too long to recover.

Got a score to add to the list for 90's Grip. Yes it is low, but there will be improvement to come! 11,226. I have picture proof but, for some reason it is not posting easily right now.

Metal endurance is tough stuff, averaging 7500rpm for 90 seconds is not really bad at all.

Hmmm...I think the Ed Tech affects more than just the support band, unfortunately. Not entirely certain on this, but, when the ball is spinning (G) the axles are constantly in friction with both upper and lower tracks (one axle end on each track allows for circular rotation). If the ball is left to idle (E) then both axles are spinning on one track disallowing circular rotation and possibly carving a groove into the said track. If you Ed Tech, I'd recommend stalling or to idle on the powerball's side to allow the axles to not specifically default to a "bottom" track? That's my two cents...

Thats pretty impressive. Grip is the weakest link on those 90s metal runs, and with gripper technique you cant readjust your grip without losing lots of speed. So nice job on that one. ;)

ah, hahaha! I may have done one or two in the course of my entire ownership of the metal...I probably have only done 10 90s ever between plastic and metal. I may have done more AMCCs than I have 90s :confused:

It's a very impressive score. I don't do Ed Tech, but I was pleased to do 15.4k one-handed Gripper once, and 15799 was my two handed record, but I really didn't do them very much. I hardly ever do 30s runs with the Metal either. I find just lots of speed runs does the trick.

Something I also did, to improve my Metal speed, was a one-hand 30s Gripper run with the Plastic. I would try to maintain a good 12.8k to 13.2k, and I would do this two or three times. Then, when I picked up the Metal, I would try to "feel" that same speed and rhythm of 12.8k to 13.2k. Managed halfway between the two, but 13.2k is my real target at the moment. :)

Trust me, when Tstering was sitting on around 12.6k I said he should be able to do 13k, and he tried and did.
