Hi weela, and welcome to the forum!

It's hard to say if your are doing anything wrong. The first week can vary for everyone. Some Powerballers see great improvements in the first week, and other don't. Yet even others exercise moderately in the first week so that they can get accustomed to the movement and rotation of the Powerball.

Let us know a few details and if you are able to post video link or Private Message me with a video link, I'd be glad to let you know if I see anything that is out of the ordinary.

Since you just started Powerballing, there is some time and practice needed from most everyone before they start seeing improvements. Everyone is different. :)

Thanks for posting. We look forward to hearing more from you!

Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash

Hey Weela, welcome to the forums. My suggestion would be to dollow Duane's advice... he is one of the great ones on the scoreboards and made rapid progress to over 15K in next to no time. Also, scan through the technique forum, lots of good advice there.

Good luck!!

For everyone, whether you're stuck at 7000 revs or 12000 revs or 15000 revs, it's all about practice. The rotation motion of the wrist isn't particularly normal, especially at high speeds, but the more you use the Powerball, the more your muscles will learn the motion and start to do it automatically.

What I did when I first started, (and what I do now when I'm a bit out of shape, (like I am right now)), is get the Powerball spinning quite fast and KEEP it spinning for a long time...I'm talking half an hour to a couple of hours. It really works the muscles and forces them to learn the action. Careful of blisters on your hands though!

I suggest you try this, but make it 5 minutes to 20 minutes tops, as you're just starting. :)

Best thing then is to watch some of the videos on the scoreboards, or go to something like YouTube and search for Powerball on there. :)

Hi rhys (weela),
Yesterday you said to me that when you increase the speed of your wrist, it loses sync with the powerball's motion. I just thought i'd tell everyone this and maybe that will help to tell what you are doing wrong (if anything).

yeah, losing the rythm with the rotor is what catches most people out when they first start powerballing. To get the powerball spinning faster you need to keep your hand rotating in sync with the rotor and by overtaking the rotors speed slightly you can drive it higher. But I am sure that you have grasped this idea already and just need more practice to get your muscles tuned to this new movement.

Its all about practicing to condition the muscles and to train your muscle memory into carrying out this technique more accurately and more quickly. For example, I changed the direction in which I rotate my wrist on my left hand about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and at the start I couldn't get higher than 8k without completely losing the rythm and slowing down. Which was very frustrating because I could get above 12k spinning in the other direction :(. But I kept practicing and it got progressively better and now I have the technique down perfect with that hand, and im just about ready to break into 13k with it :D.

So basically what im saying is keep at it and you will definitely improve.

Good luck
