The powerball definitely is a great exercise tool for anyone who wants to improve their strength and endurance in their grip, wrists and arms in general.
Either you use your powerball to improve your overall hands/wrists/arms status. Or you are addicted to it, like most others who tried out the powerball :) Among the addicted users we have those who wants to improve their personal best scores. This post is mainly aimed to you who wants to improve your overall hands/wrists/arms status or your personal best scores.
I mainly focus on armwrestling myself, but that means I have to exercise a lot with my hands/wrists/arms to increase my power. Therefore I use grippers, powerballs, ropes and weightplates in different combinations. I believe some of you might be able to try and use some of the exercises I have to improve status/scores. Enough talking and to the spot :

I post my example exercise movies there. You can also find my links collection of armwrestling related movies there to. Hope you find anything useful for improvement ;) I promise to to make future posts how you can spice up your powerballing to. If you want to improve, don't let the body adapt !

Cool vids there, thanks for that.

I'm starting to think I really ought to exercise in more ways than just Powerballing, walking the dog and cycling to work. Having relatively simple suggestions, (which don't involve picking my lazy butt up and walking to a gym or anything), are always welcome.

/me is wondering if my dad still has those free-weights, so I can "borrow" them.

Cool that you like the videos. What you are thinking is exactly what I intend to post as videos to. Think of what you have at home and can rig to start exercising. I do go to a gym, but that is basically because I don't have a bicycle, swimming pool and sauna myself. I'm visually impaired so I can't bicycle safely. I have been strength exercising a while. at that time I started working this out didn't have any good income. So had to find and come up with cheap solutions. It started with skipping the rope, filling bags with sand used as weights for different exercises. Using waste iron bars/pipes to load weights ( my bags etc) on. having weights (bags etc) in lap while doing modified dips ( party replacing bench pressing ). And so on , all of this mostly reminds about dinosaur training style. And it wont make you any weaker than any gym atheltic, the gravity etc is the same even at home =)

Interesting. One could build up a lot of raw power with some of those exercises.

Tim, you could do a lot worse than trying your hand on the rings, they take up little space, are really light, can be mounted very easily(sometimes a little imagination is required), are very addictive and are a very versatile tool for training total upperbody strength. Here's a site with a lot of info: http://www.ringtraining.com
and here's one for general bodyweight tips:http://www.bodyweighttraining.org:D

I came across these simple exercises recently and thought I should share them with you. The article suggested doing it three times a week.

1. Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 2kg potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

2. Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 5kg potato sacks. Then 25kg potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 50kg potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute (I'm at this level).

3. After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks. :p :D :D
