what sort of 'brick and mortar' stores carry the 250hz version? i want one now and don't want to wait (or pay) for shipping. so far the only store in my town, seattle, i've found is rei, but they don't have the counter model.

I would email rory or info<remove>@<remove>powerballs.com to see if they can give you a list of distributors. As far as the store you tried... if they don't have the counter version, I would double check that they are selling authentic Powerballs. There are a lot of knock-offs that look very similar.
