Just got a new 250hz after having a defective Techno and i want to keep it in top shape.... what is the best way to slow and or stop the rotor??
I have tried to stablize the rotor like the techno untill it slows down and it makes a vibration sound also i have used the gyro motion to slow the rotor.

I think the best way to stop the rotor, if u want to keep your powerball in good shape, is to gently slow your hand down, steadily does it :) That and no abrupt stopping when at high speeds should prolong the life of your powerball
You need to hold on tightly to a normal 250hz Powerball till it's stopped.
Don't try to hold it 'loosely' like a Techno, you are likely to create unnecessary wear.
If you want to stop the rotor quicker, depending on how tough your skin is, you can brush the spinning rotor lightly with a finger or the palm of your hand.
Obviously, this can be dangerous and if you ram your finger right into a Powerball at high speeds bad things can happen.....
So, hold on tight and take care if you try to manually slow the rotor at speed.

Thanks Guys! that should help keep my ball Silky Smooth!

bad things indeed, especially if you do this with a metal :S, have a pretty large bruise from when my metal bit me a couple days ago, needless to say I won't be trying to slow it down with my palm again in a hurry ;). Ouch!!!

Just about any manual way of stopping it however, will tend to get small amounts of debris inside. Which is one reason to clean it out every once in awhile.
I usually stop it slowly with either my hand or shirt at speeds less than 6000rpm.
Don't stop it against any fabric that burns easily. I've got a cool little burn mark on my work pants from doing that

Thats interesting, Ill keep that in mind thanks.
I use the tough side of the knuckle of my thumb to stop it and I've stopped it at speeds near 10k like that, it definitely gets the skin warm!

Interesting. I've accidentally stopped my blue neon pro before whilst switching hands.
There wasn;t any burn whatsoever... it just stopped without making much fuss.
Maybe the speeds weren't high enough at the time.
