View Full Version : New Personal Records
Just submitted new personal records to the boards.
250hz went up from 13867 to 13888 and 350hz went up from 11929 to 11934
Not the biggest jump, but just a couple of babysteps closer to 14k & 12k
Vidz for those interested:

EDIT: That screamer is so LOUD!! ;)
Well done some days even those little steps are so satisfying after day(months) of nothing:D:D

Great work. So many people about doing some big 13K scores now. Won't be long till the entire top 200 will be 14K+ scores.
Aye, I certainly want to score over 14k.
My big targets at the moment are to make it onto the top 100 board in 250hz leagues and inside the top 20 on the metal league.
Also, Tim, could you update my score on the "l33t Gamers" mini league if you haven't already. Forgot to submit a score update for that :o:)
ooh, just realised that I'm gonna have to make me an updated signature pic :D

Also, Tim, could you update my score on the "l33t Gamers" mini league if you haven't already. Forgot to submit a score update for that :o:)As rule we (I) don't automatically update Mini-Leagues scores as it's not that easy. I would either need to pretend to be you and fill in the submission form, or update one of your older scores and thus lose the historical information in the database. So if you could submit it yourself please it'd be great, ta.
Okies, no probs, will do. :)

Just below 14k and 12k. I'm sure that if you pushed just a little harder in the hot-mode you will have a great scores flashing back at you. ;)
Keep spinning!

Thanks for the support Duane.:)
It's good to improve and get new records, but it's still a little frustrating for me to have been so close to 2 big landmark scores for so long.
I should be able to push over 14k & 12k almost any time.
As I still seem to be making weekly improvement I'd estimate breaking through the barriers sometime in the next week or 2.;)
Think I just got into serious "Hot Mode" on my non-dominant left hand.
Just scored a 13691  no bloody video tho :o:(

Ahem.....see my thread about who got the mostest? ;)
I definitely got 2 PB's :D
Tried dual run for first time earlier tonight got 24664, submitted to boards.
Also got over 16k on 90s, submitted to boards.
But the icing on the cake tonight is that it turned out my right hand was in hot mode too, just broke 14k & 12k :D:D

Excellent score "One-Eye"!! Endurance runs are good they give you the best workout of all, and, well for me, my arms feel really pumped afterwards and my speed runs show massive improvment too.
So 90's runs are key to a good high score, having a good effort balance is always essencial and they also have maximum workout :)
Good 90's score anyway, and outstanding speed scores, keep it up! Fellow UK powerballer!
Thanks for the kind words Pete, now I've submitted to the 90s board I'm gonna be chasing you ;):D

Well done, One-Eye!!
You did exactly as I hoping you would do. You took full advantage of the hot-mode you were in and got past the 14k on the 250Hz and 12k on the Metal. Both are outstanding scores! Looks like your 14167 score will put you into the Top 100 as well, which is good because the Top 100 is definitely the place you want to be with a 14K+ score. Nice job!
Do you have anymore left in your hot-mode? Keep spinning and see what happens! You might break some more records! ;)
Great scores, One-Eye!
Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash
Sorry Duane, the "Hot Mode" passed soon after.
If I'd stuck on 250hz I might've pushed that score higher, but switching to the metal to see what I could do after getting >14k took everything out of me.
Very pleased with my work tonight though.:D

Well done, One-Eye! I find it's always good to check to see just to make sure you didn't miss another immediate record to follow.
My hot-mode today only got me 15062. That's okay because my fingers were still feeling something from yesterday's session. I only got one 15K+ score today, even though I passed the 15k barrier 4 times the day before. One time is better than no times I suppose. ;)
Remember, after some rest you will be coming back to the Powerball with an added confidence that you didn't have before. You have it 14k. It is definitely an elite group of dedicated and competitive Powerballers. If you are feeling in close to top form, you will find that you might reach near the same marks again next time. Maybe another record soon after. Your body and mind have an interesting way of remembering how a 14k run felt so that you will likely repeat it again.
In the meantime, you might try taking a look at some of the videos from the Powerballers that are above you on the scoreboard. Perhaps you will find something in their technique that you can utilize in your own record attempts. Just small adjustments to your grip and everything else, and soon you will think that 14k is easy and wonder why it took the time it did to get there. But I guess we all go through the same learning patterns in making our own improvements. :)
Once again, welcome to 14k club! It's a great place to be! :D

Well done mate, just wish i could say id be breaking 14k soon, but i havent got close to my record for over a week now. :(
Thanks all for your encouraging words.:)
I'm feeling pretty chuffed still.:D
Time to rest now though, could be on for another session on Friday night.;)
Ricky, I got stuck just below 14k for what seemed like aaages.
Rest up, do strength runs, get in your hot mode and keep trying. You'll get there too Ricky.
Well done on the big scores. I just past 13k and it feels awesome to hit those landmarks you've been after for so long. I love the pile of power balls off to the side in the video too:D
Heh, I'd actually put quite a few Powerballs away at that time too.
Had them all out after receiving a few more new ones for a bit of a photshoot.:D
Yeah, well i wanted to reach 14k by the end of the month, so i think i might rest until the beginning of next week and see where i stand.
Rest is good, and see what you can do with your metal as well when you have another session.

I've not done any Dual-Hand runs lately when I've been on on top-speed form. My initial posting of 25700, (12700+ and 12900+), was done when I could only just about manage those scores one hand at a time...I think the best I could do was 12.9k and 13.1k ish. Now I can do 14.2k and 13.9k I ought to be able to get nearer 27700.
Tell you what, beat my record and I'll see what I can do. ;)
......Tell you what, beat my record and I'll see what I can do. ;)

Pic & Vid to follow.
Also had a pretty good night in general.
On 90s endurance I racked up 15400's single handed with each hand, but knackered myself for a both hands run so no improvement there.
Started getting into "hot mode", scoring low 14k's 250hz and 12k's 350hz no new records yet though, but had to go and eat dinner.
Let my din-dins go down a bit then did a few 30s runs with each hand to get warmed up again, then the magic started happening....
Racked up a new personal record speed run of 14335 on the 250hz.
Left hand was hot also, doing mid 13k's so went for some dual hand action.
Came storming out of the blocks with a 26252, rapidly followed by a 26717 and a 26313.
Thought I was done with dual run so had a crack at metal again. Knocked out a couple of decent low 12k runs then came a 12215.
After a couple more 12100'ish runs I dug deep and pulled a 12443 out of the bag.
Rested a little and went back to 250hz, was still knocking out low 14k's right handed and mid 13's with my left hand so had another crack at dual run.
Did a few low to mid 26k runs then finally surprised myself with a 26986 run, the most surprising thing for me was I scored 13715 with my left hand.
Still felt good so carried on doing low 14k 250hz runs and low 12k 350hz runs for bit longer till I really went off the boil.
A rather good night. Especially as I wasn't plagued by technical hiccups so I have pics and vidz of all the best runs.
Linkys to follow.:D:cool:
Even though theres the physical strain of getting two 14k's there's also the mental barrier too, belief, in my case getting two 11.5k haha. i will only post a dual run when its a semi-good run. :p

Thanks Linus, I'm kind of surprised myself how well I did tonight.
In answer to your questions:
The camera is still the same one that I bought only a couple of weeks ago (Top of the range Logitech thing that looks like a Powerball ;) ) but I bought a nifty little cheapo desk lamp from Tesco at the weekend to brighten things up some ;)
I bought my first powerball about a week before Christmas '06 as a present to myself from my son (he's only 7). So I've been Powerballing just over 2 months now.

I started off with a Signature series and I think I managed 127** on the first or second day.
Then I kind of got stuck in the 11k's till some time in mid January I think.
Ah, did a 12874 on 13th Jan '07
Had my metal shortly before that and started out on high 9k's
On 18th Jan '07 scored 10796 metal and 13436 250hz.
20th Jan '07 13729 on my screamer.
23rd Jan '07 11288, 11375 & 11431 on metal.
26th Jan '07 13867 250hz.
30th Jan '07 11929 metal.
Then I think all my scores after this are in this thread.

Blimey mate, those are some amazing scores! I've found it's not that common for 250Hz scores to improve alongside 350Hz equally like that. For me, certainly, Metal and 90s endurance tend to go hand in hand, but even when I hit 12658 with the Metal the other night I couldn't do 14k with the Plastic.
Very good, I'll pop your scores up now...

I looked at you scores One-Eye and was like OMG! Very big well done :) You've only had it what ... 1 and half Months :D Your putting UK Higher and higher in the scoreboards.
We should do a little experiment, see which country has the highest average scores, so add up all the people from the UK and find the average score and then all the other countries in the top 100 and see what country has the highest scores. Only do it for the Top 100 though as theres so many from UK it will get a little tilted :)

Since i first broke 14k, my powerballing has really gone down the pan. I completely lost all technique. Been over 14k three times now, still not happy with my technique, i feel like it is holding me back. On a normal day, non hot mode im only hitting 13.1 or 13.2k.
I somehow have improved my endurance though - and have ditched the Ed Tech for 30s.
And my left hand has been coming on quite well - i have added an extra 300 on in the last couple of hot modes. :)

Was thinking of having another session tomorrow night, but my triceps back and shoulders are feeling pretty tight still so I may just have a crack at barryppl's 1 hour metal challenge for some lower impact endurance training.
Probably next Tuesday before I have another crack at improving my scores.;)
Ok, so I did have a bit of a session last night.
But I didn't manage to get really 'hot'.
Session was bisected by a late dinner again.
So, I got warmed up and started doing some promising dual runs, including a 268** with very even scores for both hands.
But I had to go and eat, so after letting my food settle I warmed up again but couldn't get really 'hot'.
I got something out of the session though, managed a new metal best score of 12491 before I had to clean myself up and go and pick up my girlfriend.

Competition is the spice of life.....or am I thinking of cumin.....?
I was bad on Saturday night, I started having a little fool around with my Techno doing speed runs and before I knew it I was doing speed runs on my metal and my favourite 250hz PB's without properly warming up and when I should have been resting.:o
Was pointless, I was nowhere near 'hot' and I only succeeded in straining my right index finger.:mad:
Hoping it's gonna be fully recovered for tomorrow night and the live event.

Looking forward to seeing you in the live event One-eye ;) Hope you break a record and that strain on your index finger heals up in time :)
I'm hoping so too Pete, got a good feeling about dual run for some reason....;):D
Looking at solely speed targets tonight.
250hz Speed - Looking to push closer to 14.5k
250hz Dualies - Looking to push over 27k, hopefully snatching No 6 or No 5 on the scoreboard.
350hz Speed - Looking to push over 12.5k
Not much really....;):D

How about a 17K + 90's you got alot of potential there looking at your speed :)
I'll be doing some endurance to warm up, so if it feels good, maybe...;):D

Wow, thats a lot of variety to be doing at one time. You might find yourself getting tired before you finish everything.:p
I'm planning on trying some hardcore 90s tonight, with my newly assembled Ed.tech-only ball.:D Must.... get.... 18....k :o
Enjoyed my first live event, wasn't too active in chat channel though as I was busy Powerballing ;)
Not a bad session for me, but no new records.
Highlights for me were finishing inside the metal top5 with a 12277, making top5 on 250hz speed with a 14214 (only to get knocked out late on by superb scores from Adrena1in and WildThunder, oh and Jez).
I also made further runs over 14k 250hz & 12k 350hz further reinforcing in my mind that I can do it! :D
I had a go at some dual run action too, best attempt was 26966 just below my existing personal best.
The Teamspeak kind of worked, but needs more assistance to help TS newcomers adjust their settings better. Also possibly need to set it up better with additional 'rooms' where people can go 1-on-1 to witness potentially record breaking scores without background noise.
Plenty of scope for additional dimensions though, Tstering was on early on and was able to do live feeds of my runs through the Powerballyser and confirm my scores.
And you can really hear when someone is going for it!!
Resting now, won't do another proper session until next Tuesday.

Them Live Competitions are really enjoyble! I broke literally every record there and i don't know why maybe the competitive edge ;) ... but with ease as well so i've go alot of improvement to go on my score of 13153  The TS kind of worked but you need a chat box there so people can go one at a time for there powerball runs! All in all a good day for everyone :)
You can text chat on TS.
Would have to register everybody so they can send text messages to channel instead of just pm's to individuals.
Something else to sort out for next time. ;):D

I was quite happy to have the Gyrotek Chat in one window, and the TS window to the side. Even though not much actual "chat" went on in TS, just having the sounds of other Powerballs coming out of the PC, (and the occasional blast of Star Wars music from Obiw4n! :D ), gave it a whole new edge. I didn't think I'd like it, but I did...it was great. :)
Yeah, definitely further potential to be explored on the TS front.
Like I said, Tstering was able to successfully analyze my speed runs as they happened which is a pretty exciting concept.
So for example, your monster metal run that you didn't get on video could still possibly have been considered for the scoreboards if it was independantly witnessed and graphed on Teamspeak.
:)
BTW, who had the Powerballing dog on TS during the live event? ;) :D
I just watched you 1388 screamer vidAwesome work. You could at least make it look like you putting some effort in you make it look so simple

Like I said, Tstering was able to successfully analyze my speed runs as they happened which is a pretty exciting concept.Very true, but when Obiw4n tried to analyse a score of mine he reckoned about 13600, yet 14207 was flashing on my counter.
Though saying that, I've tried to analyse my 14433 score and think I was lucky...I can't seem to get a very clear graph, (must've changed a setting...it's just a mess now!), but the highest peak I get is around 14360 to 14400. :(

That was a really good session for me that night, everything felt right and good.
But I promise you I was still trying ;)
A lot of people say their best runs felt easy, some of mine have been like that.
Think it comes down to just getting the technique and timing and everything just right so you get maximum speed out of minimum effort. :)
is there a speed the pulse kicks in or can you pulse at any speed?
Dunno if there's a minimum speed, but I think I normally have to be doing over 13k for me to feel like I'm pulsing.
The faster you go, the more natural it feels to try and lock your arm steady and try and pulse with your whole upper body.
so is you hand or wrist twisting at all when you pulse?
Oh yeah, it's twitching with less and less perceptable movements trying to make the Powerball move in ever decreasing circles to go faster.
For me it feels like I'm using my whole upper body to make larger movements which get converted into the smallest movements in the Powerball.
Look at Bjorn's video for example, as he goes faster the movement seems to shift from the Powerball up his arm into his upper body till the Powerball and his forearm almost seems to be standing still but the rest of his body is shaking.
Very true, but when Obiw4n tried to analyse a score of mine he reckoned about 13600, yet 14207 was flashing on my counter.

Just ripped audio from your video and ran it through Powerballyzer.
Looks good to me, no disparity between graph and counter that I can see.

About the pulsing thing, when i made my, tiny, highscore of 13153 i felt myself slightly pulsing i also just started to use both arms, not like installed, but shake the other arm to get momentum and when you go really fast and shake your other arm for me it goes faster :) Maybe using my body more
This pulsing thing is difficult for me. I seem to be able to get the technique right, but then my scores drop to under 13000. Probably need to work on the technique more then...:(

Had a reasonable session tonight, despite recovering from a cold.
Also, my shoulder seemed ok after feeling like I'd pulled a muscle at the weekend.
No new records to report. Struggled to get over 12k just the once with metal and couldn't break 14k with 250hz at all but got high 13k's 3 or 4 times.
Also had a handful of respectable dual hand scores in the mid 26k's.
Worked more on endurance tonight. And, although I didn't beat my personal best for 90s, I scored over 16k a couple of times.
Most pleasing result for tonight was breaking 6k on 30s for the first time with a 6008.
Am away on holiday to Denmark next week, visiting a friend, so I can have a good break and come back refreshed and rested.
Will also be working on endurance more as I feel now that I can make some progress there rather than concentrating on speed and just using 30s & 90s runs as warm up.
Well done on 6k. I find 30's and 90's really help my speed. Duane gave me some good advice to go for your speed with the same intensity as you do a 30's. Though having seen your vid's your pretty intense already. I feel it helps to get that counter to register. Sometimes you think that was a good one and the score is average. Have a good holiday.
Nicely done Bud, 6000 30s is quite an accomplishment. Just a question - is that one handed or with a changeover?
One handed, no change-overs, right hand anti-clockwise ;):D
Nicely done, I only managed to get just:o over 6000 with right hand on maybe 3 or 4 occasions, left hand still sucks - can barely get it over 5000 in 30s:(
Adrena1in
14-03-2007, 12:51
Because my left hand is a bit weak compared to my right, I can always score considerably more in 30s with my right hand only. In fact my 30s record with one changeover is only just a bit better than my 30s record with my left hand, because of losing quite a few revs during the changeover.
I always reckoned Akis could do better one-handed. His 7253 record was with a single changeover. (Still miles ahead of anyone else! Bjorn's managed 6811...a full 884 rpm average less.)
Thank you, hopefully I'll be doing more 6k 30s runs when I get back from Denmark.
I can manage about 5400 with my left on 30s when I'm running hot.
Have managed over 15k single handed with each hand on 90s during better sessions before now.
Will be looking to see if I can get over 17k @90s soon....

Hey One-Eye
I think that endurance is the key to any speed record.
If you do an endurance run, 90s, your arms will be so 'pumped' and
you'll probably get records thereafter.
Most people ignore endurance completely  But I think good
endurance is the key to being one of the top powerballers
there are.
Well done on breaking 6K 30s. You can chase my endurance records
if you like, 6229 and 17209, there well in reach for someone with
such power as you have :)
Good luck on your scores

15k on each hand 90s is not bad! I can only do that on my right and look at my endurance score.:p You should have no problem with 17k once you get a good session going.
Cheers for the encouragement chaps.
Still resting for now, but will be going for it after my little Danish break. ;):D
I just tried single hand 90's runs and can only get about 14800 each. So i'm expecting some big things from you in the 90's league. Extractus digitalis from your fundamental orifice:D:D:D:D
Like I said, I'm off to Denmark next week and I got loads to do this weekend to get ready plus it's Mother's day this Sunday (don't forget to buy your mom a pressie peeps ;) ).
So, proper Powerballing will be on ice for a week, although I will be taking a spare PB for my mate in Denmark to get him hooked.
I reckon he could do good things with it as, although he is a couple of inches shorter than me, he is about twice as wide and his arms are like my legs....
I'll be back a week Saturday and I'll see about a mini-session sometime over that weekend.
Will also let you know how my mate in Denmark gets on.

Enjoy the trip buddy. Looking forward to see some new scores once after your rest.;)

I always reckoned Akis could do better one-handed. His 7253 record was with a single changeover.
On the same day that I did 7253, I was scoring lower with one hand (I don't remember the highest one-handed score but it was close to 7200).
Am back from Denmark.
My mate is pretty hooked on the Powerball I gave him, he got up to around 11.5k within the first couple of days but couldn't get any faster yet.
I didn't rest though, I Powerballed under duress coz he wanted to see a fast run, managed a 14k and some high 13k's.
But I Powerballed most days.
Need to rest some more and have a proper session again soon.
Welcome back.
Rest is good. I had a good session yesterday and tried to back up today couldn't even mange a 12500 score

C'mon, give the guy a break! :p
Heh, I should have had a break last week.
But I just kept messing with my PB's coz my mate in Denmark wanted to see me do high scores.
Didn't get properly warmed up most days or anything, very bad form.
Had a bit of sesh on Sunday morning, mostly to check out one of my fave PB's coz I think the rotor is on the way out.
Managed a few 139**'s and broke 14k once, metal form is way off atm tho couldn't even get above mid 11k scores.
So, I'm resting properly now and also trying to eat properly again as I pigged out last week (literally, loads of good pork/ham/bacon/etc in Denmark).
May pick up the PB's again Friday night or, more likely, Saturday morning for a small sesh.
Is gonna be difficult to have full on sessions for about a month or so as I'm playing in a CSS tournament on Monday nights for the next 5 weeks.
That and trying to spend time with the g/f plus spending quality time with my son on weekends is gonna make it tricky to PB 'properly'.
Will of course post any notable scores as and when they happen.
;) :D
Welcome back! Maybe thinking of taking the whole 5 weeks of with only light spinning inbetween?
Should be able to grab the odd hour session over the next 5 weeks, but no 2-3 hour sessions where I do my best work ;) :D
BTW, for those gamers who are interested this is a link for details of the CSS tournament I'm playing in http://www.narchad.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?id=32
I'm in GB-UK clan.
All matches have source tv so you can always tune in and watch if you have CSS installed.
Will be a good standard of play, especially in group 2 with 3 of the best and most well established community based CSS clans in the UK.
We're not too shabby in group 1 either ;)
Morning all.
Had a bit of a go Saturday morning, started to get fairly hot but had to finish the session before my hot mode finished, sadly, to go and do stuff.
Session highlights:
No new speed records, but a lot of satisfying 14k scores (including several, at last, with my screamer. Have vidz to be uploaded for PaDavid ;) ). Highest session score 14215 with an amber pro.
No dual runs, and my left hand is really flat for speed atm, struggled to get into mid 12k's.
Been really off the boil with the metal still, only scoring mid 11k's. Managed to finish off the session with an 119** which I was quite pleased with under the circumstances.
Didn't try any 30s strength, scored a new marginally higher record on 90s with both hands 1655* (can't remember exactly), managed 15065 with left hand alone and 156** with my right.

It's weird how it goes sometimes, isn't it? Pretty good speed, but comparitively low Metal and Endurance scores. Similar things usually happen to me. I'd be very pleased with 14215, or a session of 14k+ scores. :)

No problem with clearing the high score on your counter. Sometimes it's helpful in pushing you to an even better score. I cleared some 15k+ scores on some of my counters and had fun doing them all over again! ;)

Nice score One-Eye,
thought I give you some more motivation!
Just around this area Duane and I scored exactly the same score of 14459.
From this point it took Duane 39 days to get 15k+ and for me it took 59 days.
Duane's development curve and the more or less hopeless chase of trying to keep up with Tstering has been two of my major inspirations. Why I was able to catch and pass Tstering we all know about.
Anyway here is the challenge for you!
You got between 39 to 59 days to get 15k ;)
If you believe it, you can do it :D
Ok, so, a blow by blow account of my sesh.
Started off as a bit of a mess around, did a bit of enduro to warm up (no new records there).
Hadn't even plugged my webcam back in after lan at this point.
About the 3rd run after warming up I knocked out a 14396 (a new personal record) without video.....:o
So, determined to repeat the score if not better it, I launched into a bit of a proper sesh and recorded everything.
Knocked out a string of 14k+ scores many over 14200, so had a break and went onto metal for a while.
No new metal records, but was pleased to see a string of 12k+ scores staring back at me (including 2 over 12200) which reassured me of a return to form on metal.
Straight out of the blocks on the 250hz after my metal mini sesh I recorded a 14346, officially a new record for me.
Then a half dozen scores over 14k, but nothing much over 14100.
Switched to screamer for a bit of noisy toy action, fired out a 14287 (new personal screamer record) plus 2 other 14k+ runs.
Back onto my fave amber pro....14151, 14193, 14299 then my 14450 :D
Back on the metal and got a 12258 before returning to 250hz for a 14425 and a good few more 14k+ runs before going off the boil.
Finished off with a few left hand efforts, best being a 13588.
Was around this time I managed to 'clr' my high score.....D'oH!!:rolleyes:
Will be upping vidz later, and trying to capture stills for the high score pics.
Posted this before seeing your comments guys, thanks for the encouragement.

And that was about it for tonight, didn't bother upping the 12k metal vidz as they're not close enough to my record.
Definitely gonna work more on enduro, and left hand seems to be lacking the coordination it used to have so I'll be looking into more dualies I think to try and bring it on.
Kickin ass there well done!!:)

Linus is right. I was looking at the graph of your record run on the Powerballalyzer, and it seems that it was on it's way to 15k, but then you let off quickly and it went back down. I think it may have even brushed 15k but it was not there long enough to register that score.
Trying holding it at the top as long as you can. The one second seems like ages, but it adds a great deal to your score.
If you manage to do this, you might even beat Tstering to 15k and be the 10th person to the club. ;) :)

Well, I just started off killing time before possibly playing online in a CSS match with my clan.
Messing about with my metal and doing pretty ****, so I switched to my amber pro and started messing about doing some reasonable LH scores and ok RH scores.
Even ran a couple of dualies, but pretty poor scores compared to my record.
Decided to give an unused 'new' PB a quick spin, without video.........:o
......scored 14464, a new 'unofficial' record......
So, had to get properly warmed up and into 'hot mode' to equal or better it again.
Started knocking out decent scores right off 13743, 13843 with my left (new LH record) & 13647 and with my right 14238, 14423 & 14238.
Quick spurt on metal produced a 11252 LH & 12222 RH.
Back on the new PB for the following....14330 rh, 13768 lh, 14309 rh, 13781 lh, 13981 rh, 13761 rh, 13984 rh.
Felt I was going off the boil a bit so did a bit more metal with nothing great to report.
Did some enduro for a bit resulting in a new 90s run record, just, of 16541 and a new 30s run record of 6088
My left hand was pretty well shot after the enduro runs, but I persisted......
......resulting in 14422 rh, <13k lh, then 14748 rh (new record) :D, 14538 rh, 14404 rh, another **** lefty, 14401 rh, dire lefty, 14528 rh, 14611 rh, poor lefty again and finishing off with 14483, 14201, 14420, 14254 all rh.
Will be upping the record vidz later, be warned tho, I went topless tonight...... :P ;) :D
Once submitted and approved I'll be lurking just outside the top 20, w00t!!
i knew it was 14.7k, god i am physchic lol.

Very nice One-Eye!
Excellent consistency as well you got a handful around 14.4k WD :)

Ok, so here are the vidz.
Once again, be warned I am topless and it's not a pretty sight.

awesome :D, you're really churning those new scores out. 15k must feel quite achievable right now huh...;)
Keep it up.

It certainly looks a whole lot closer than it did this time last week ;):D

Nice record :)
Big jumps in scoring records feels soooo god.
From here you can do 15k directly if you really believe in yourself.
Brave of you to go topless ;)
At my current shape I wouldn’t dare of even consider it :o :D
Aye, I was very pleasantly surprised by the near 300rpm jump. :D
Fortunately I don't have real bad man-b00bs (or m00bs as they are known).
But I was wobbling quite noticably around the middle when I watched the playback of my 30s & 90s runs, so I shan't be posting those vidz :p;)
Definitely shirt on for decency's sake in the future :D
And thanks for the encouragement guys, this forum really is like a self help group.
The most support I get from non-PB'ers when I talk about my achievements is a kind of glazed expression and a benevolent smile.
As others have said, it really is important to have the positive feedback from people who understand.
<3 you all ;) :D
Well done One Eye, I'm canging my vote in the 10th to 15k to other go for it dude!!:D

Thanks again for the kind words Rob & Johan :D
Yeah, I need to get my mojo working and 'shake' my moneymaker :p;)

14748Whoa!! Seriously good improvements there, very well done. :D
Ok, had a bit of a spin tonight.
Went something like this....
Started off with metal, did some 30s enduro to warm up. Best was 48**.
Did some speed runs on metal, around mid 11k's RH, nothing special.
Went on to my amber 250hz, LH was lagging a bit but managed some low 14k's RH.
Switched to my blue 250hz and started pushing though 13k LH and getting some solid 14.2-14.3k RH scores.
Back onto metal for 10.9k LH and 11.8k RH.
Tried a couple of dualies, coordination wasn't really there but still managed a couple of 26.2k runs.
Back onto 250hz for more solid 14.1-14.3k RH and 13-13.4k LH runs.
Decided to do some 250hz enduro, best runs @ 30s 5459 LH & 6040 RH, best runs @ 90s 16767 BH (new record!:D), 15000 LH & 15656 RH (new record also! I think....).
Back onto metal again, still pretty poor but managed to get a low 11k LH and 12123 RH.
Onto the current 'hot ball' my blue 250hz again, started really pushing out some good LH scores and decent RH scores also......
.......13810 LH, 14329 RH, 26742 & 26752 dualies, 13742 LH, 14499 RH.....
.......then.....out of nowhere.......14219 LH!!!! NEW RECORD!!!!! :D
(That's half a pint you owe me now Rob :p;))
.....I continued......14242 RH, 13968 LH, 14413 RH, 14460 RH, 13708 LH, 14441 RH and finally 14239 RH.
Called it a night after that as it was getting really late and I wanted to post on here about my sesh and upload vidz and stuff.
Vid linkys to follow....
Impressive stuff OneEye, well done. :)
Thank you Wild :)

Well done ya bugger. I always thought that was inevitable, that's why I chucked in the metal clause. I'll have to pull my finger out now. Should be seeing 28k on Dualies from you now:D

Thanks Rob. Aye, I reckon we could be seeing 12k metal on your left soon, just have to see if I make it too before you crack 14k 250hz left. ;)
28k dualies is high on the list of 'Things to do' :p:D

Great going, One-Eye, just when I thought I was catching you ;)
Had a min-sesh on Saturday, no new records but some nice scores, will do a full on report later.
Also, had a more 'proper' sesh tonight, just finished in fact.
2 new records to report (30s and dualies):D, some respectable 250hz scores :) and I've totally come apart at the seams on metal :(
Full report and vidz to follow.
Ok, so Saturday I just had a mini sesh.
Started off messing with my Techno, got a 13.8k score after doing a bit of a warm up.
Did a few runs with my 250hz, left hand was off the boil so concentrated mostly on my right.
Racked up about 7 scores over 14k from 14.1-14.5k.
Tonight, I warmed up with metal (I'm still not really on form with it) did a few 30s runs and a 90s run. Can't remember figures exactly for those, but I managed a 4.8k @ 30s and only just under 14k @ 90s.
Started doing a few speed runs with 250hz: 13526 LH, 13758 RH, 13810 LH, 14514 RH, 13492 LH, 14363 RH, 13728 LH, 14348 RH.
Went onto metal for a few speed runs: mostly nothing much to report, a couple around 11k LH (just over & just under) and 11.7k, 11.8k & 11.9k RH scores stood out.
Did some enduro on the 250hz: @ 30s 5733 LH, 6142 RH (new record :D) and @ 90s 16321 BH, left arm was tired and could only manage 14.3k @ 90s but managed 15.4k with my right at 90s.
Did a couple more uneventful metal runs before dropping back onto 250hz speed: 14360 RH, 13257 LH, 14217 RH (screamer), 14020 RH (screamer), 13280 LH, 14206 RH, 14217 RH, 13534 LH, 14140 RH, 14240 RH, 13725 LH, 14287 RH, 14412 RH, 13605 LH, 14489 RH, 13339 LH, 14221 RH (screamer), 14273 RH, poor 12.3k LH, 14167 RH, 12.2k LH, 14222 RH, 13468 LH.
There were also a handful of poor metal runs spattered through out that lot.
Did a few dualies too, had a few dodgy runs where coordination went but these were the better results: 26771 ,26592, 26869, 26775, 26623, 26722, 27069 (new record :D, 13489 LH & 13580 RH), 26870.
After a few more poorly coordinated dualie runs, I went back to a few single ball speed runs to finish off: 14227 RH, not so good 12k LH, 14197 RH and final run 13919 RH (screamer).
Still uploading new record vidz....
Done.
Apologies for swearing at the end of this one.

Some nice solid RH action there. (Good to see the Left and metal off the boil gives me achance to get to beerthousand:p)
Don't hose crappy low 12k scores annoy the hell out of you. Your thinking is the counter or is it relly that bad at the moment....
I definitely had some counter errors, did a right hand run that sounded fast scored only 11.5k so ran it thru Powerballyzer and yup, it shoulda been around 14.3k.
But I also had some 'off peak' moments too, especially with my left hand.
And yup, I really gotta get that lefty of mine up to speed on metal, beer doesn't grow on trees after all.......
:p ;) :D
...beer doesn't grow on trees after all.......:p ;) :D
Would that not be the best thing since spinning powerballs and sliced bread...???:o :D
Damn straight Jammy, now why can't these genetic scientist type dudes put their minds to that instead of growing ears on mice's backs and such like.....
:D
Thank you One-Eye, o grand protector of the High Beer. It's high time that somebody stood up for the rights of the humble beer...

nice scores all round, except for the 30s right hand, I would expect a higher score here considering your top speed. I can get 6152 RH 30s and my top speed is quite a bit slower than yours. I'm sure if you practice 30s runs a little more you'll thrash that score again. 6.3k should be easy for you :D
Keep it up

Have you ever thought about switching hands during the run, say after 20 seconds or so? I say this because it looks like your speed is dropping below 12k for the last 10 seconds or so, and maybe if you switched hands you could keep it above 12k with your left hand for the last 10 seconds.
Yeah, always looking to improve my scores if I can Linus, and I'm a bit of a late developer on the enduro front.
I'm sure I'll be knocking out better 30s & 90s scores in the near future ;):D

I did try this last night Al, but it was too soon after other enduro runs and both my arms were shot, managed 6089 I think.
Will defo be trying the switch hands ploy again on future 30s runs to see what I can do. ;):)

Yup, defo is Pete. Didn't make life easy for myself either by not having my digicam at the ready. :o;)
Not a new record for me. But my 7 year old son, Jake, was finally able to keep a Powerball spinning on his own and make it speed up last night.
I started it and handed it to him at around 2k and he was able to keep it going and speed it up for about 30secs.
He recorded progressively faster runs starting at around 3.4k and finished on 4636.
Akis, watch out!! ;):D

Unfortunately, those people who do try to take a photo of both counters in one go usually end up with images where you can't see the score. Doesn't matter, I extract screenshots from the video and construct a new image! ;)
Update on my son's progress.

Very nice One-Eye!!! I see a future world record holder ;)
Just finished a 2 hour sesh.
Some pleasing scores.
Warmed up with some metal enduro. 30s scores 4556 LH & 4909 RH, 90s metal score 14192 BH.
A few speed runs with the metal resulted in 11981 RH, naff LH score, 11937 RH. Still pretty dire on the metal atm.... :/
250hz speed runs next 14000 RH, 2 x poor LH runs, 14259 RH, 12924 LH, 13981 RH (screamer).
250hz enduro to follow. 30s scores 5494 LH & 6096 RH, 90s 16336 BH. Nothing particularly inspiring there....
Did a few 90s single hand runs.....14331 LH........15818 RH
Few more 250hz speed runs....13966 RH (screamer), 13237 LH (screamer), 14349 RH, 13626 LH.
Decided to try a couple of dualies, first warm up run I didn't video.......
......13803 RH + 13574 LH = 27377......muppet.....
So, decided to concentrate on dualies for a bit.
13605 RH + 13380 LH = 26985
13886 RH + 13574 LH = 27460 (new record)
13975 RH + 13349 LH = 27324
13894 RH + 13724 LH = 27618 (new new record)
13954 RH + 13800 LH = 27754 (new new new record )
After this run I noticed I was mortally wounded......but decided to carry on :D
Went back to some single hand speed runs.....11973 LH (probable counter error, sounded waaay faster), 14527 RH, 13749 LH.
Dualies...
13951 RH + 13768 LH = 27719
13973 RH + 13644 LH = 27617
13966 RH + 13715 LH = 27681
Single hand 250hz action again.....13188 LH, 14321 RH.
Metal speed......10968 LH, dire RH score, still baaad at metal atm.
250hz speed....13589 LH, poor RH score, baaad RH score (lost coordination :/ )
Dualies.....
Badly coordinated runs....23'ishk x 2
250hz speed.....13488 LH, 14249 RH, 13245 LH (screamer), 13976 RH (screamer), 13875 RH.
One last dualies run 13528 RH + 13530 LH = 27058 (nearly a perfectly balanced run :D)
Last few 250hz speed runs to round off the sesh....11915 LH (another probable counter error :/ ), 14285 RH, 13371 LH.
Had about enough by this time so packed up and started posting my results. :)

Nice session there, a whole host of amazing dual runs. Also a nice 14.5K+ RH score in there so not a bad session atall I'd say.
Yeah, I can't complain really :D
Just wish I could get back in the saddle with my metal :(
Just checked, I'll leapfrog Pako and Johnathan Cazes to be just under Duane on the dualies scoreboard

ALso nasty blister there. I don't seem to get blisters like that anymore (runs and touches wood) just gets a bit sore near the end of a session but fine the next day.
Thankee :D, yeah tis weird about my blister.
Had a blister on the ring finger of my left hand last just over a week ago. Same place but not as bad.
Maybe I'm gripping differently as I have callouses where I used to get blisters when I started.
'Tis the first time I've had a blister this bad come up and split open during a sesh though.
fantastic dual run, well done. :)
And yes, flaps of skin falling off is just one of those things us powerballers have to get used to ;)

I've had much worse than that on my hands -theyve been bleeding before and they do take ages to heal - so remember to rest! Well done on your new dualie record - top stuff :p:cool:
Thanks chaps. Definitely resting to let my finger heal before I go for it again.

Update on Jake, my son's, progress.
Doing well, went through the 5k barrier several times on Tuesday night with his right hand.
Best score was 5695.
He's also improving his left too, scored a few 4.3k LH.
:D:D *proud* :D:D
That's cool my son Jacob is only 4 well 5 tomorrow and can just about keep it spinning got very close twice but not quite there yet. (wrist strap central:D)
What you getting the little man for his birthday? His own Powerball? ;):D
I suspect my Jake may ask for his own one soon.
Only letting him use a Signature which I keep for letting others use at the moment.
Have said that if he's good I'll let him have a go with my screamer at the weekend.
Maybe next year he is far more impressed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the moment:D
Hehe, sounds about right. :D
Further update on Jake's progress.
On Sunday 6th May, he bettered his high score......twice!
First with a 5767, then he actually notched up a milestone score of 6076!!:D
Watch out Pete et al, Jakey's after the U17 crown :p;):D
Me? I'm still resting mainly to let my finger heal up still before I give it some more stick.
Just doing a few little spins here and there to keep my hand in.

Had a bit of a go this morning, wasn't overly productive as I'd had about an hour on my metal last night and wasn't in 'peak' condition.
Won't bore you with as much details normal.
Speed runs were ok, scored a few 13.6k LH and 14.1k RH. Nothing exceptional there.
Dualies were ok, no new records but was comfortably scoring in the 27-27.4k range with nice balance between LH & RH.
Had more pleasing results on enduro, new 90s BH high score of 16839 and 30s high scores of 5988 LH & 6199 RH.
Will upload 90s vid in a mo.

Still needs more work.
I'm getting better, bit by bit, and hopefully soon i'll get that 17k.
Impressive runs and a they sounded fairly paced to me. Wish I could transfer the ball that firmly on 90s runs :)

No ways, it's not that difficult. You just follow Adrenal!n, Rob and Pete's advice to the letter and the scores will come...
Come one mate!!! If you can lift a pint glass with either hand you can do 17k:p:p
I can lift many pint glasses..... :p:p;):D
Will see about 17k this weekend then. :)
Been a while since I last posted anything here.
So, I had planned to stop over at my parents' house on Wednesday night to have a proper sesh and record my efforts on my webcam (which is still there attached to my pc).
Due to work commitments this never happened.
My hands were all better from various blisters and my arms were all rested for over a week and itching to do some business.
So, armed only with a single Orange Original Pro, which I'd just refurbed with a new rotor, support band & washers, I had a few little spins at my g/f's house last night without any means of recording my results.
Only about an hour sesh, but it went something like this....
Cold spins RH 13.2-13.9k range, cold spins LH 12.9-13.4k range.
At this stage I was still only really messing about, so did a couple of reverse 90s spins at about 80% effort one LH & one RH.
Scored about 14.4k LH and surprised myself with 15.6k RH without really trying.
With my arms a little warmed up I decided to do another pair of 90s single hand runs in my regular spinning rotation.
LH first, scored 15802, then RH, scored 16353
So, now I'm thinking 'Hmmz, could be onto a hot mode here....'
Few more speed runs garnered 14440 RH and 14092 LH, only the 2nd time I cracked 14k LH!!:D
A pair of 30s single hand runs followed, 6018 LH & 6293 RH  again!!
A few more speed runs, mid to high 13k's LH & low 14k's RH.
Decided to try an all out, balls-to-the-wall 90s BH run, hoping to crack the 17k that has been eluding me for so long.
Started LH RtP changing to RH CtP after 15 secs and back and forth on 15 sec intervals which I managed to keep to. Grip-tech BTW ;)
The run felt good, managed to start off not too fast and maintain a good pace with less drop-off than ever before.
Looked at the counter hoping for a low 17k and thinking how disappointed I'd be after that effort if it was still only a 16k score.
Was amazed to see 17659 staring back at me!! again again!!
No more enduro after that, but speed went into real hot mode for about 10-15mins.
No new overall speed record, but RH peaked with a couple of juicy runs 14695 & 14697 and LH had a supernova hot mode with another 4 runs over 14k and a new LH speed record of 14248!!
Then, the hot-mode was over so I cleaned myself up and had dinner =D
Damn fine sesh all-in-all, just a shame none of it was on vid =/
Hoping to get by my parents on Saturday and have another sesh to replicate (if not better) my scores.
Still feeling quite chuffed and pumped from last night ;-)
Sounds like fun was had by all. Glad you didn't have your metal with you I could have been down a pint. Well done on the 17k+ by the way gripper too your a real man now;):):D

Nice scores there Mr, but none of them surprise me. ;)
Cheers Rob :D
Gotta say, it's thanks to people like yourself, Johann, Peter, Stephen, Tim & others inspiring me on the enduro and giving invaluable tips on technique (Tim especially in this regard).
BTW, I'm not planning on breaking 12k metal LH anytime in the next few weeks as the pint of beer will be no good to me.
Having a 'dry' month to detox after a rather silly sesh at my g/f's local on a school night last week.
Felt like scattered p00 pretty well all day Friday.:o
PS - Is there like a club where us 'real men' can get together and quaff ale and do grip-tech and poke fires with a stick and pee on the toilet seat and other such manly stuff?;):D
Nice scores there Mr, but none of them surprise me. ;)
Aye, s'right, I suppose the only mildly surprising thing is that it's taken me this long to do a halfway decent 90s enduro. ;):D

Great scores. Sounds like a nice session.
Thanks James, I'm still on an endorphine high after last night ;):D
Managed a marathon sesh of nearly 3 hours this morning.
Arms are still good, but hands are shot to hell and back. :D
Gonna have to rest up for another week or so before I have another bash.
Sesh wasn't bad at all, garnered a few new personal records and although I didn't match my 'unofficial' 90s BH score from the other night, I did get fairly close.
Gonna cut short the blow by blow report I normally do, got a few vidz to upload.
So here's the highlights.
90s LH 15807 - http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/OneEyeUK/?action=view¤t=90sLH15807.flv

Dualies 28363 (scored 5 times over 28k!!) - http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/OneEyeUK/?action=view¤t=dualies28363.flv
Metal RH 12813 (best metal sesh for a long time, loadsa scores over 12k RH =D, LH is still lagging though =/ managed 11230 best LH) - http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/OneEyeUK/?action=view¤t=metalRH12813.flv
Single hand speed scores were acceptable, peaked around 13.7k LH and a couple of good 14.6k RH runs. (actually scored higher with LH during dual runs)
All in all, another decent sesh, will upload vidz later. Vidz uploaded now
My son Jake wanted me to video him doing a run too, he scored 5449 with a red neon, will upload this vid later too. http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/OneEyeUK/?action=view¤t=Jake5449.flv
;):D
Oh, also managed a new 'Screamer' record too, 14494 RH :D http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f282/OneEyeUK/?action=view¤t=screamerRH14494.flv

Wow.
Firstly nice gripper ;)
Not to mention the mammoth metal score?!! Parks you just outside the top 10!
Also you are very good in dual runs! 5th in the world, now thats something to be proud of. Hope your son knows this :p
Awesome One-Eye
I suppose it's a matter of time until we see you bust some 15K plastic scores out :D
Thanks for your kind words Pete.
Gotta say, like I did earlier in this thread, my new found enduro ability is partly inspired by yourself amongst others.;)
Well pleased with my metal performance today, as I've been sooo off the boil with the big horrible lump for too long now.:D
My son doesn't seem to be too impressed with my Powerball achievements just yet, but he seems to be enjoying having a go which is the main thing for me.
Jake could be a new "Youngest 14k'er" on the way :p;)
There's nobody more than me would like to see me doing 15k scores Pete.
Hopefully it's just a matter of time, and even more hopefully that it's not a long time. ;):D
Vidz uploaded and links added above.

Wow that is one of the best record breaking sessions I've ever heard of! You are getting great progress on your endurance scores. I noticed how you pulse your body throughout most of the runs which is quite hard to do but of course gets you a lot better scores. And all your speed runs are absolutely stunning! Thats incredible that you got over 28k dual 5 times, and your score jump on the metal is just massive!
I'm suprised that you were able to do such a hard session in the morning, for me my scores are complete disasters any time before noon.
Thanks also for your comments Stephen.
You are another of my enduro inspirations. ;)
I didn't mention before as I only did an abbreviated session run-down. But before I scored the 12813 on my metal, a few runs before I'd already beat my high score once by just 1 rpm!! :D
I also pulled a few 12.5k and 12.6k scores out after the 12813.
Generally, my weekend sessions are morning sessions. Weekday sessions are normally in the evening, like my 'unofficial' sesh at my g/f's house the other night.
So long as I'm reasonably hydrated and have eaten something, once I'm warmed up time of day doesn't seem to affect how I score during a sesh.
3 hours today was a bit much for my hands though, especially when I started on the metal. I even wrapped my most blister prone spots with zinc-oxide plaster before starting my sesh, but I still got some new blisters. Very sore just now.

3 hours would kill me! :o
Watched little Jake, he's sure got potential :D
Nice outcome for the effort you put in to
the 90's, really is a let down
when you bust your guts for 90 secs
and nothing comes of it.
Live Comp Thursday
So I'll probs rest till then and by the sounds of it
your hands could use a few days. Thursday
seems a good day for records
Keep Ballin'
Finally got to watch the vids greta work all round. Jakes was great kids are awesome aren't they. Well done on a great session the metal leap was amazing.
I laughed my ass off at the last bit of the endurance run someone watching that not knowing what you were doing could be very afronted I would imagine:p:p

Think it's a hazard of the sport Rob. :p;):D
I've thought the same thing about other people's vidz and I did think the same too when I was watching my own 90s run back.:o;)
My g/f can't watch a Powerball vid without being reduced to smutty chuckling, she does try though bless her.:D

I showed a friend my "Progressive Scores" video on YouTube, and the first thing he said was along the lines of what you're all talking about. Problem is, my Powerball room is too small to get the camera far enough away to show my hands! :o :p
Ok, just wrapped up my sesh at the 'Live' event.
Sadly, I wasn't 100% ready for a sesh and some of my scores were a little disappointing and I got tired very quickly.
That said, I still came away with some new personal records :)
Highlights for me were:
New 30s 250hz LH record of 6052
New 30s metal LH record of 4813
New 90s metal BH record of 14250(G)
New metal LH speed record of 11752 (glad to see my left has decided to try and catch up on my RH metal score) :D
Best 250hz speed tonight was 14425.
Hopefully I can be present at the next 'Live' competition and be fully rested and fit.

Damn that pint is just slipping away from me. Well done mate..
The pint will be mine!!
Could be difficult collecting it though, don't think I'm gonna be anywhere near Perth anytime in the foreseeable future.
Never mind, got to actually win it yet ;):D

Sounds like you had one of my-type sessions, where you're bad at speed and just do a bunch of random endurance. :) Are you gonna give dual-90s a shot anytime soon?
Yeah, I'll probably give dual 90s a shot during my next proper session when I'm feeling 'fresh' again.:)
Like I said before, I wasn't 100% the other night. Gonna leave the powerballs for a bit and see when I can next do a sesh in about a week when I should be 'fresh' again.
