:confused:Can anyone clarify the difference between the Edouard/Burst and the not Edouard techniques for the strength league. When I watch the videos it seems it's just a matter of how many times they change hands ie lots or not many, or is there something more subtle/(sinister:eek:) involved?? I notice some people list in their gaphics as having a one hand 30's score using the E technique how is that possible???

well as far as I know the Edouard/Burst technique envolves getting the ball up to the highest possible speed then relaxing your grip so that the powerball rotor spins freely without the usual secondary turning motion. While the rotor is spinning like this it is only slowly losing speed and therefore it is still racking up the revs without much effort on behalf of the powerballer. Then they just keep repeating this procedure to keep the rotor spinning at the maximum rpm. The normal technique is just keeping a firm grip on the ball and keeping it at maximum rpm by doing the usual spinning motion with your arm and then switching when you get tired.

I personally don't like to use the Burst technique because it tends to wear down the support band while the rotor is spinning loosely in the hand, my first powerball replacement part was a new support band because I had worn it out by using this technique. :/

Im pretty new to powerballing so I hope this is correct :)

:D:D Thanks for that after I read it I went and watched some different vids and that makes it very clear. I can't for the life of me make my powerball do that occasionally when i'm changing hands i get a spin with no twist but not for long. Doesn't seem llike there putting in as much effort though but I suppose that argument has been flogged to death previously. each to their own hey

I had a thought driving home. Anyone who can do this burst thing and spin 14k plus and is willing to sacrifice their ball in the name of science could try this and have a crack at the record. Spin the little sucker up to 14k get it bursting then hit it with a spray of that silicon lubricant. After all you're really fighting friction and not fatigue it would be interesting how long it spins for. I suppose some disclamer about warranty should be inserted here good luck!! Can't say I'll be trying it..

Just look at some of the threads dealing with why not to oil your powerball!

At first, there was no way I could let my ball spin smoothly on one axis, but over time as it got more worn in, it gets quite a bit easier. One thing that I do is have to seperate support bands/tracks for my "Ed.Tech" ball. One being in good condition, and the other having larger drilled out holes(either by using Ed.Tech. a lot, or you could possibly drill it manually somehow). An extra set of interchangeable washers helps too.
