Is it ok to stop the rotor with your other hand. Maybe just put your palm over the exposed portion of the rotor. Basically so you don't have to take the time to let it wind down by itself to avoid knocking etc.. Thanks!

Hello Michael,
The answes is yes, you can stop the gyro rotating by placing your palm over it.

Only thing is to wait until it slows down sufficiently so that you don't get 'burned' by the rapid motion of the gyro when the palm of your hand comes into contact with it!

On another note, you should never put the powerball down until the rotor has stopped spinning - it may 'jump' from the surface where you left it if its still spinning and could fall and damage the rotors.

Hope this helps,

Regards

My technique: when it's spinning madly, just tap it slowly & gently with a good & callussed heel of your hand until it feels pretty warm. That gets the speed down a couple grand, then you can use another part of your hand to get it down all the way to zero. No pain, and no damage. It takes about two seconds to go from 10k+ rpm to zero.

Slowly and gently will work fine...except, if you happen to try that with a 350hz metal...expect a nasty flesh pinch!

This is the one model that we recommend you leave slow of its own accord...and certainly never with the assistance of your finger tips...unless you want to lose them of course...! Regards Rory
