View Full Version : Slower speeds with LED versions?

Hi!
I have a Blue Powerball, the kind that light up.
I was wondering how much the speed is influenced by the lights, since they do take the power of the spinning to light up.
For instance, If I get 10k on a blue, how much would that be on a regular powerball?

I think its pretty must the same... for most users there's no difference - actually only noticable at high RPM - and with sustained use over time that you notice a difference.

For instance, if I get 10,999 consistently on a standard powerball then it might be 10,900 or so - prob higher on the LED one... I'd know if I had one - hint, hint you guys in powerballs... freebies gratefully accepted!

Hi Guy's,
Freebies are not a problem, just get your name up there on top of or leader board and we'll send you two. As for your query on the speed, all powerballs can potentially reach the same speeds in excess of 15k, the neon balls just take a little more to get them there. So keep up the good work and lets see you on that leader board soon!!
Powerball....Absolutely Revolutionary!!

I have 3 balls, I can not explain why but I fell the 250Hz (LEDless) one differently that 2 other neon ones...

I will give more details if needed.

does anybody know what is the higest score with the led one that someone has got?

I.T.

-----------------------------------------------------

Straight from the pen of Mr. Akis himself:

"Neon type: This ball was fairly unwilling in the beginning and refused to reveal the 14k mark in the first 3-4 sessions. After some more attempts however, it became more co-operative and gave me some 14.2k-14.4k scores. The best I managed on this ball was 14726 rpm"

So, essentially, the Neons will indeed hit those high 14k levels and should, with practice, hit that magical 15k mark in the right hands!

Hope that helps I.T - regards, Rory

Out of interest...

Are there power usage differences between the Neon Green Powerball and the Neon Blue one?

If so, this could affect the ease at which you can get high speeds.

If the green one uses less power then if could be easier to light up and easier to reach high speeds?

Nope - the same power system just different coloured LED's! - Vera
