hey, i was wondering since i don't have a vice at home how else can you open a powerball??
i have the signature series one and sounds pretty rough after a couple of weeks. i am just worried that if i dont clean it, it will get damaged becuase its making a noise as if something is trapped inside.
i did happen to get the little plastic bit on the cord trappped insde and separated from the cord but that was ages ago. is it possible that it is still in their?? i did stopped and gave it a lil shake to see if i could hear anything but nothing, any help would be great thanks!

There are various videos about, showing how to open a Powerball with your bare hands...or feet...or head!! My chosen method when I don't have a vice to hand is this;

Take off the rubber grip and take out the two little screws. Place the Powerball on its side on the carpet, and hold it with one hand. Make a fist with the other hand. With your thumb on top and the soft, fleshy part of your fist above the Powerball, give the Powerball a hard whack. You don't need to put a great deal of downward pressure on it...it's more of a sharp hit and pull back. Works for me and doesn't hurt.

Some people stand on the Powerball, others put it under a table leg or something and then stand on the table. I don't find those methods as easy, but it's whatever works for you really.

I have 3 Signature Series Powerballs, and they all happen to have cracked rotors right now, but I was able to get a 14,500 yesterday on one of them even with the cracked rotor. I suspect I might be able to get much higher when I put in a new rotor. :)

Let's see:

My collection of includes the following so far:

3 Signature Series Powerballs
3 250Hz Pro S (Soundballs)
3 Amber 250Hz Pros
2 Blue 250Hz Pros
1 Blue Neon 250Hz Pro
1 350Hz Metal Powerball
1 Bluetooth counter
1 PodPower
1 Eezi Starter
1 Powerball Polo Shirt

I plan to get products as they come out. I often alternate between the 250Hz Pros and the Signature Series in hopes that I will break my record with it some day. :)

I think I'll refer you to this other thread where I gave my partial feedback on the bluetooth counter:

To me, it's good to have it anyway. One day, I might host a small competition at my house if I can get few Powerballer together. :)

Instead of a vise I bought a 3 inch wide C clamp for $4 and that did the job.
