Hey All,
I just topped my own record again with a new score of 14859. The new score should be up on the scoreboard soon. I was doing the Metal mostly in the beginning of the week, and came pretty close to beating my own record there too, but a dreaded blister was forming on my thumb and I had to stop. I took a rest from all forms of Powerballing on Wednesday, and when I got back to the 250Hz Pro again, I started beating my records again.
The only issue is that the blister has not quite healed yet, but I put a new rotor in my Powerball and it was feeling too good not to try. I was rather surprised that I didn't have to work it in too much at all. Although I tried hard today to break past 15K, I just couldn't quite do it today. Besides the thumb blister start coming back again. I will have to rest a bit more before the 15K mark is broken, but this should not be too long.
According to my overall rate of improvement, I should be capable of hitting 15K after January 22. I could hit it on that day or couple days after. It just depends on the hot mode that I get after that date.
I anticipate that we may see some others hitting the 15K mark around the end of the month too. It could get fun! :)
Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash

Sweetness! Awsome score Duane. I'm kind of suprised to hear how often you do powerball. I think once in a while you should give yourself a couple days break.

Thanks, Installed!
I usually take Saturday and Sunday off from Powerballing to give my fingers adequate rest, but last weekend I was Powerballing at a relative's house on the weekend when I really should have been resting. I will probably rest Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week just to be sure I am in better form when I go for 15K on Monday. :)
Once I do 15K on the 250Hz, I'll go for the Metal again.
Always Powerballing,

Something tells me that, while quite a few people have approached and hit 14.7k, 14.8k and 14.9k, and then apparently hit a wall, that's not going to happen to Duane...one of the most avid and dedicated Powerballers out there.
Good going Duane, I'll get your score and video put up in a bit. :)
Yes, that wall is called 'fifteenkay'.

It is interesting how many people have progressed to 14.8/14.9K steadily or even quickly and then suddenly get stuck.
I'm hopeing both Jeremay and Duane don't now get stuck and progress on over the 15K barrier, time will tell though.
really nice score there Duane.
keep it up

Thanks everyone!
I think if I get the necessary rest I should be able to hit the 15K mark. I think all I have to do is spin it same way that I did yesterday. If I don't pick up the Powerball until Monday (this is the hard part) then hopefully my arm will be itching to spin it fast again. :)
15K is just 141 rpm higher than my current score. This might be just a quick movement of the wrist when the ball approaches its highest speed, and then I should have it.
Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash

go go go Duane!
When I was approaching 15k, I swore myself: that was my goal and Metal was secondary. Now, I feel more comfortable speeding the Metal (except that it hurts the fingers faster), and have lost confidence with regular... Last week I hit 14914, but it was by chance.. now I find pretty hard to vibrate the arm to get those high scores... So, now priority number 1 is Metal, and I'll try regular from time to time... anyways, if 15k+ score flashes, it will be welcome :-D
g00d luck to Duane, Jeremy, and other 15k+ potential powerballers!!!
regards,
Pako.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Pako!
Yes, I'm going for 15K next week, but I'm confident that this is not the end of my improvement. My goal is much higher than this and my improvement hasn't reached much of a plateau yet, but this the next step in the ladder so to speak.
I'll probably pick up the Metal after I reach the 15k mark to see what kind of damage I can cause, both in the scores and, of course, on my hand. ;) The Metal is definitely quite a "beast" and can take a real toll on the fingers with a lot of speed run, but I usually make improvements on the Metal after I reach higher levels on the 250Hz pro.
After some Metal attempts, I'll do some endurance to see if I can increase my Strength League score too.
Thanks again, Pako, and I hope you can surpass the 15K mark soon too! :)
Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash
