Anyone like to go for a % split on the above?
Looking at scores and time spent practicing, my own improvements I'd say
60/30/10 with those figures changing to maybe 40/20/40 at 14k rpm plus.
I have found initially technique improves rapidly, endurance slowly and slowest of all will of course be raw strength.
Fire away with alternative theories especially you long term users:D

What exactly are you asking? How much each of those factors determines Powerball speed, or how much those factors improve over time?
I personally think that technique is the most important factor for high speed. Endurance doesn't really enter into it very much at all, and strength doesn't really either...some of the fastest Powerballers out there aren't that big and strong. So for high speed, I would say it's more like 80/5/15.
For 30, 60 and 90s Strength runs, it still requires a good technique, but obviously endurance does enter into it. Strength is still less important. Perhaps more like 50/40/10?

Exactly what I was asking :) Which sort of makes you ask the question, if it's more about about technique is it really having that much effect on strength? Of course increased strength may be just the beneficial by-product of the time spent improving your technique;)
I for one will be interested to see what happens as my main interest is in grip/forearm strength...if it's fun as well then all the better. I have set a friend off wanting one now so that gives me someone else to compare notes with:)

Technique is the most important, but strength is also important. Just look at the size of Akis' arms, they aren't exactly small.

Pako is probably the biggest in the Top 20, muscle-wise, and he's managed about the same as Dennis, who in comparison has much smaller arms.

Oh dont get me wrong, technique is without doubt the priority. Two people though could have the same technique, but the one with more strebth will always get the higher score. It is hard though to judge by how much, and is impossibe to ever test. It is basically a matter of trying to get a maximum of both, with technique being the most important thing to work on.
Hi there,
So, if Pako could have a little of my technique, and I could have a little of his strength, we'd probably both surpass 15k!
No, seriously, I think you'll see the biggest leaps by improving your technique. However, I think that the 'best' technique is directly related to a person's physique. What may be best for one may turn out to be not so beneficial for another. So, you'll see big improvements by perfecting your technique. I tried to copy Akis's technique and Bjorn's, but I just can't. Both have a very different physique, yet they both score much higher than the rest of us using totally different techniques. Sometimes, you may think you found a technique that suits you best, but after continuing to work on another, this other technique may turn out to be better after all (look at how Adrena1in's reverse rotation scores started out). Irrespectively, you'll hit a plateau at some point with not much room to improve your technique. That's where strength comes into play, which lets you improve with only small steps over time.
So, the clue is to find which technique suits you best and focus on that until you hit a plateau. In the mean time, you'll work on your strength automatically. Then persevere and you'll keep on improving, although not with giant leaps anymore.

Ok it's a deal... here u have my strength... gimme your tech. :D
So, the clue is to find which technique suits you best and focus on that until you hit a plateau.
That's right... I was using a lot triceps, which I still think is the best to absorb the forces and control the pb. But right now my biceps are surprising me: I've hit 14759; I only hit 12.6k once long ago. And i torture my mind asking myself everyday: 'what if i had used the regular just after i broke my metal record'
So, I won’t let my triceps confuse my biceps. I will only switch back to triceps when i hit my max with biceps, which I hope it to be >15k :)
Pako.

i think that technique counts for near to 99% because if you have huge amounts of strength but can't get in rythym with the powerball then your going nowhere. however if you reverse this and get a skinny weed with a good technique (pulsing or whatever) i'm sure they would get a good score. Here though i am talking about extremes of people and i think you can assume that most people on this forum can keep in rythym with the ball  so i would say it is more like 60/10/30. Oh yeah i just thought i'd add that strength does count for quite a lot on high score mode: i don't do weights or anything but powerball regularly and my score is 13.4, one of my friends hardly ever powerballs but does weights and he has a similar technique to me and can get 14.4. I suppose you can never say which is the crucial factor and it has already been said that it depends on personal technique and style!
