Hi everyone.
Got my Neon Pro through this morning and have so far made 11820 just purely going for my 'big number'. Now I am more interested in the muscle benefits.
Having looked through other threads, and just through general common sense it seems that the more you use it at a certaihn time, like for lets say 20 minutes as a whole, and 10 minutes obviously for each hand, how long would it take before the muscle began to take form and 'stay' at its enlarged state ??
Does anyone else do it this way, or does just pure 'using it' cause this increase as well ??

Hi, and welcome. Nice scores there for your first day!!
As long as you keep using the Powerball at least once or twice a week, for anything between 5 minutes to several hours, your muscle definition should remain. I try to Powerball every day, even if it's only for a few minutes. Sometimes I'll have a hard session for one or two hours, and though I don't feel that "Pump" anymore, my muscles are still slowly getting bigger I think.

A powerball wont make your arms enormously big, but it does make them a bundle of very compact power!! In general, doing aywhere from 30 sec. to a couple of hours endurance sessions will get you stronger faster than just doing speed all the time.

Thanks for the score remark !!...Been using it still and just got to 11997 !! AARHHHH lol
And yeah I realised the endurance was the key, I supose 6-9000 RPM at a constant rate for a few minutes would give everything a good work over ??
Well it does for me cause I dont half feel the burn lol

Yes that would work great. And btw nice score! But dont overwork yourself the first day or you'll be sorry!

The 250HzPowerball is good for refining musculature, the 350Hz will have a hypertrophic effect on you arms but if you want "BIG guns", then weights are your only way!;)

Yeah back to the old weights
Thanks for the remarks with the 12K...doesnt half rattle your arm off !!!
Although I think I will be feeling it at work tomorrow. Probably a good idea to slower speed for more time for a while.
Anyway thats my day over, no more of it tonight !!
See you all soon.

Couldn't get 9000+ on my first day so well done
Very impressed by that score - i couldnt get anywhere near that first day! As stated earlier though - weights are the only way to really increase muscle size, ideally compound movement (deadlift, squats, press etc).
That said the powerball can contribute to this significantly. Basically - the longer you use it at a constant speed the more Type I muscle fibers (or more precisely.. motor units)you recruit to the exercise. These are slow twitch endurance fibers. For real growth you need to recruit Type II (fast twitch) fibers. That requires large loads in short bursts. Its the combination of these that give us the ability to both lift massive weights and do a triathlon. Each muscle has different proportions of these but the arm muscles tend to be more Type II as we use our arms for strength and power movements rather than endurance movements. (obviously this is an oversimplification but you get the idea)
Type II fibers can grow by up to 30% more than Type I so target these for growth and definition. And this is where power training comes in. Short bursts of very intense exercise will stimulate these as opposed to slow movements (even weight lifting) that stimulate Type I. Power = Speed x Force or to put it another way - lifting a huge weigth very fast is power - lifting a huge weight slowly is just strength. I exercised my legs with big weights to the point where I could comfortably squat twice my body weight...but could I run up stairs quickly? No. Now i can thanks to power training. Power training releases huge amounts of growth hormone so.....
Short blasts of very high speed will help with growth and definition. Long bouts of sustained speed will build maximal strength and endurance. Do both and your arms will look like popeye's. Then you need to balance the rest of the body!
Have fun!!

Yet more very interesting comments from KuJu, thanks for that.
I think I must have a lot more Type I muscles in my arms, because I find endurance quite easy, (#2 in the 90s League), but my speed is way lower by comparison. But from what you're saying, plenty of quick speed blasts on the Powerball, especially the Metal, and little or no endurance, should help build-up my fast twitch muscles. Interesting...I think I might use February to test this theory out.

Curious about one thing, since i play the bassguitar, i rely greatly on strength i my fingers, and does this fiber 1 and 2 stuff work with the hands as well.
Think my hands are pretty strong since i can sit about half an hour around 6.5-7k, so i think that it goes mostly in type one fibers in my hands, but would i overwork my fingers if i gave it a fast spin going for the top score using my fingertips?

Heh I wouldnt recommend going as fast as your arms can do while holding on with your fingertips. Thats a good way to drop it. But endurance using that technique is fine. I'm no expert, but I would say that your hands get strengthened in practically the same way as your arms, just on a smaller scale.

Yeah - i would suggest doing it with the wrist strap on - or over something soft like a bed if you are going to use just your fingertips.

Thanks for the reply's..
But I don't think i really got the answer i was looking for, so let me try again.
Can you build mucsle fiber II in your hands? Anyone?
