View Full Version : Elbow discomfort?
My 'Ball doing nicely at keeping the wrist RSI pain at bay... but I've developed some discomfort in my elbows. I'm doing 5 mins per hand per day, a bit longer some days, counter around 6700.
Any thoughts, anyone?

Not heard of that before, I must admit. I've had pains in my fingers, wrists and shoulders from overdoing it with the Powerball, but never had any elbow trouble...plus the sorts of speeds you're going at certainly isn't over-doing it.
Do you move your lower arm quite a lot when you Powerball, moving it from your elbow joint?
Well if you feel just discomfort that is OK, I had bad wrist tendonitis from tennis I couldn't lift anything with my right hand, after couple of weeks of PB-ing I was back on court. I still feel little pain and discomfort but at least I can play again and work on comp all day without problem.:)

I know what you mean about elbow pain. Recently i began using my powerball for around half an hour a day or more. When i straightened my arm it clicked at the elbow and sometimes hurt. does anyone know why??
I think my problem might be caused by 'Balling with my arm straight down as I'm walking along (so no-one thinks I'm really weird as I walk past) and perhaps doing that for too long (10-15 mins) instead of a mere 5 mins. I'm now being a bit more disciplined to finish after 5, and also keep my elbow bent so my hand is chest high. The discomfort has subsided somewhat - although that might just be down to the reduced time.

Good point though, it might be that if you have your arm too straight, the Powerball is trying to "over-extend" your arm, and this could cause pain in your elbow.
I do tend to have my arm very slightly bent when I go for hard Powerballing, and also when out walking.

ye thats definately what it is. I will just have to adjust my technique to use a bent arm.
