I know there's a topic about the exact same problem, but I was hoping more people would see it if I started a new one.
Simtpomes: exactly the same as the ones psiho described. I bought it 3 or 4 days ago, worked perfectly the first day (i got close to 10k revs, no problem). However, the next day I was trying to finger-flick it and I noticed that doesn't work (as it does with the other powerballs) so I just thought it might be harder and all that, so I used the cord.
Yesturday I played with it for about 3-4 hours but could not get past 6-7k tops. It was very dissapointing, but I just thought it was because my hand was sore from all the playing.
Today, it wouldn't start with the cord either. I tried like 20-30 times without being able to start it once (and I got to 10k with other powerballs, which i can finger-flick start, so I really don't think it's a tehnique problem). Then it struck me, I remembered psiho's topic, so I tried starting it the other way. Worked the very first time, and I got it to 8900 revs sitting down, with little effort.
So... the direction DEFINETLY has something to do with the way it spins. I noticed the score is also mirrored (i think), not just displayed on the other end, so justing opening it and re-arraning the rotor won't do it. Did anyone else have this problem (i mean except psiho, obviously)? I'm thinking about going back to the store and try to change it for a blue pro or something, even though that one is cheaper. I would change it for another techno, but that won't help because it might work well in the store, but it can just get "jammed" again in a few days.
So please, any help is appreciated, but please consider that this is NOT a tehnique problem, since I did do it well when I first got it, and I can hit lot higher revs on regular powerballs (A LOT). Could it be something with my little sphere? :( Please help before I have to go and argue with the guys at the store. (i'm thinking they'll have a hard time understanding why I'm taking it back).
Edit: Just so you know, by not being able to start it, I mean this: I pull the cord, and start slowly stirring it. It sounds like it's picking up speed but it's not. After 20-30 seconds of spinning it, it slows down and stops. This, however, does not happen when starting it in the other direction.
Edit2: I started playing with it in the other direction, and managed to complete a cycle of endurance (3900 turns). I have tried several times to do this in the normal direction, but I never managed to. If the score would be displayed normally but on the other end, this problem would have such an easy sloution... :(
