View Full Version : Sore hands

Hi, i've had my 250hz neon ball since last christmas and used it sparringly. I'm beginning to use it more and more now but as my hands are a little small round the ball, after a few days use my fingers and hand gets sore, especially my little finger.

This causes slower speeds as it starts to hurt at high speeds, and I have to put the ball down for a few days (but I don't want to!)

So what is the solution? I don't feel I am getting the full benefit by stop/starting all the time. Day 1 I will get one score, then the next few days will steadily increase, I will then put it down for a week and then start off as I did to begin with...

I know the ball is meant to improve grip so I don't necessarily want something that willl just grip the ball well, maybe something to stop my hands getting sore.

Also (probably due to my smaller hands once again) my 2nd rubber grip is becoming lose and is starting to slip when reaching 9/10000... :(

So any suggestions welcome :)

Thanks guys

If by sore hands you mean blisters and the like, then gloves might be a temporary measure. If by sore hands you mean muscular, skeletal, neural aches and pains, then it's all part of the bodies adaptation and you're going to have to respect your body! Train one day on one day off. Don't forget, aswell as being a lot of fun the powerball is a training aid and therefore has to be treated the same way as any other training regime.

Yeah it's blisters.

Actual muscles are fine, that's why it's frustrating being held back.

What type of glove would you suggest? Washing up gloves? Leather gloves? :)

Hello Tim, i used to use a golf glove, it helped a lot.... now i dont really need it, my hands get used to the powerball.

Hi Tim,

I would recommend using it every day for one month. Limit yourself to 10-15 minutes once or twice a day and this will give your fingers a chance to toughen against blisters.

If you would prefer, you can as Sayex suggested use a golf glove for the moment which will protect your fingers.

Regards

I recently bought a pair of Specialized cycling gloves, (for cycling of course), but they're tight fitting and great for the Powerball. I'm going to use them in my 24-hour non-stop endurance challenge in a couple of weeks, otherwise my hands will be devoid of skin by the end!

Thanks for your suggestions guys.

I have some cycling gloves somewhere so might give them a go.
