are there any benefits from using the powerball to help heal (and strengthen) a recently fractured scaphoid bone? i broke my left scaphoid a few months ago in a mountain biking crash, and have gotten the cast off for a few weeks now, and have been using the powerball occasionally (not as regular as i could i suppose). i was told that even thought it is healed mostly, it will fracture more easily. Can using the powerball help strengthen it?
thanks
I donīt recommend you to use the powerball at high speeds if you have pain in a bone, I donīt know if it could helps to heal the bone. You can try it but be careful, if you feel pain, stop using the PB.
I have had some problems with 1 finger in each hand (in my right hand, the "fat" finger hurted a bit, in the other hand I had pain in the third finger recently , but now is gone) caused by powerballing (Iīm almost sure), so do not overuse the little sphere :P

I had an accident a few years back where i put a glass pottle through my own hand cutting through tendons and muscle "picture" (http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r68/kizkot/hand.jpg) I still have limited use of most of my fingers but playing guitar has helped over the years, im still missing some strength im in fingers which i hope to regain using the pb has anybody had any similar experiences and managed to regain use in their hand?
any feedback would be great

I don't know as if PB usage would actually help heal a bone, but I would think that any strengthening/increased flexibility of the muscles around said bone (which the PB can help with) would lead to less stress being placed on the bone itself. I would just go very gently and take it one day at a time for a while and see how it does. You should probably check with a doc first to make sure that it's OK to be using the PB.
well the bones themselvs are fine now its mainly the finger muscles i think that have not manages to recuprate but saying that i received my 250hz this morning weeeehooooooooo!!!!!!!
so ill see if i see any minor improvement in a few weeks or so.

My son lost motion in one of his fingers due to a wrist surgery. He was told he would never get back the motion. Last week we had to go back to the doctors due to a new injury. We couldn't belive it. He has back most ALL of the movement in the finger. He has been using the Powerball for rehab for his wrist and its now made another big difference that we were not expecting. Just don't over due it. Logan (my son) couldn't even keep the powerball going at first. Set low goals, his was to keep the ball going for one minute. Don't know if the Powerball will get the movement back for you but it is definitely worth a try.
