View Full Version : Ache in the wrists?
Hello.
I have a strong ache in my wrists after a few days practice with a ball.
Also I have a tighten annoying feel in muscles of arms. And after that my rpm distinctly negative rised down. :(
Is it something wrong with me or my technique?

Sounds to me like you've been overdoing it. Although it may seem quite gentle sometimes, the Powerball excerts a very high force on the wrists and arms. It's because it's constant. I've been Powerballing over 2 years and I still sometimes feel pain in my wrists. You should just stop for a few days and then start again, but very gently, only spinning the Powerball at 3000 to 5000 revolutions per minute.
Hope the pains go away so that you can enjoy some serious Powerballing in the future. And remember, even the best in the world get injured sometimes. :)
Agreed.
A couple of days rest should do you a lot of good legent, and you may find that after taking a break your scores will improve.
You should always remember that your Powerball is a serious exercise tool and must always be treated as such. If you find that you are exerting too much strain on your arms, or are getting tired quickly then you need to take a break for a day or two before starting again.
Regards
Enda

Definantly just over done it. In the first week of having mine i didn't stop using it , and ended up with a sore arm. Rested for 2 days, and then went and broke my speed record by over 600rpm!!!! Always good to have a rest.
Thanks to all for advices.
I was already stop the practice three days ago, but an ache is going on.
Now I'm just worring of getting any injury by using a ball. :(
Is that possible?

Using the powerball at low speeds (under 6000rpm) will actually help relieve pain and repair the damage.
Hello everybody!
Thanks for help!
Today I've broken 10000 barrier and set my new own record. :)

Stranges:
every time I develop my rpm, I get sprain of my (only left) wrist and a strong ache returns. So after that I couldn't even imagine to touch the ball for more than week. :(
Maybe however I have some problems with my technique (but I coudn't expose them)?
How do you prevent ball accidents?

Anyone who is quite new to Powerballing should spend a lot more time spinning the ball slowly and gently than spinning it fast and trying to make records, especially if they feel some pain.
Try to not spin it fast at all, but instead use the Powerball whenever you can at only about 4000 to 6000 revs per minute. This shouldn't aggravate any of your pains, but will hopefully help them go away. Stick with it slowly for at least one or two weeks.
Oh, and don't grip it TOO tight either, as overdoing your grip could hurt your hand muscles and ligaments/tendons.

I think I have done just that  I have tried resting for a day but my hands / fingers are still slightly aching..

Yep, tight grip only for speed attempts.
