I just started with powerball and I can't reach more than 10000, is that normal or something is wrong with my powerball? I saw almost all videos on board and it seams that I am doing same thing like everybody else, don't see why I shouldn't reach at least 12000.

Hi Jack,

The score is actually quite normal - generally when most people start with their Powerball they get scores of approx 7000-9000rpm and it can take a while to even break the 10k barrier.

Give it a few days and you'll find that your scores are naturaly increasing as you become used to the Powerball and your technique improves a bit.

One thing to note though is that you shoudln't try 'too hard for the first while - use the Powerball for a few minutes once or twice a day for a couple of weeks until your muscles have become used to the unique way in which they are exercised by Powerball.

Its tremendous fun, but should also be treated as a serious exercise tool.

And... welcome to the forum! :D :D

Regards

Hi Jack,

If you just started, your Powerball scores are absolutely normal (assuming your Powerball is running smooth). Since I've been Powerballing (which is a whole 2 months, really), I've seen some people make your score on the first day, some have been higher, and some have been quite lower. Everybody starts on different levels to begin with.

My scores on the 250Hz Powerball were above 11K, and now after 2 months of constant practice, I have a high speed of 14250 currently. Sometimes I even ask the same question you asked right now about my scores. Is something wrong with my Powerball? Am I doing the same thing as the others?

I guess the best advice is just to practice, practice, practice. Since you just started, avoid over-doing it, especially until you have been confortable with the technique you develop.

Don't rush your improvement. I found that when I rushed to improve, I sometimes did worse. Just practice regularly, and before you know it, the higher scores will come quickly enough. Everybody is different, and everybody has their own rate of improvement.

Set small goals for yourself with reasonable timelines. When I first started, I was completely determined to just hit 12K. Once I did, my focus shifted to 13K. After I accomplished that 14K became my new goal. I would have never imagined hitting 14K nearly 2 months ago when I first started. And now again, my goal has now changed to getting closer to 15K, and I've lost count now how many times I've passed the 14K mark. It's becoming more natural.

I think as you train and get better scores, your mental outlook changes with an added measure of confidence to get the higher scores.

I think that with some good practice, you will exceed even your own expectations.

Always Powerballing,
Duane Cash

Occasionally some people do score 12k, or even 13k straight away. But most people take a short while to get over 10k. Don't worry about it, just keep practising and you'll see those scores rising. :)
