I got a tecnho powerball a 8 days ago. But I was experiencing a problem with the fast spins, the leds on the ball would shut off completely, which was very frustatingg because I was unable to read the RPM's. I came to the conclusion that this would happen when the ball was spined over the 13K RPM's, because the fastest score I had without the leds shuting off was 12,800. I also had a 15274 spin, but can explain how it happened, it was a hard spin but not my best effort, in fact I was expecting the leds to shut off, but instead i got the 15274 reading. Never had another reading above 12800 without the leds shuting off.

All 7 leds on the ball would light and blink while spining, but once I stoped spinning the lead would shut off.

I haven't been able to get a score over 12253 in the last 5 days (since I dropped the ball. I 've opened it and cleaned the plastic band, but the balls seems to have lost something, it no longer gives the force which allows you to spin it harder. The ball no longer catchs up to my wrist like it did before I dropped it. Normally the ball goes faster than you can spin and is impossible to keep up with it. In this case is the opposite. I arm was sore the first three days I used the powerball, for the constant use and force the ball genereted. After I droped the ball, my arms are no longer sore, my shoulder is, because I have to put so much effort to try to get to the 12k, my forearms receive no impact from the ball anymore.
I dont remember having play on the ball when spining at 11+ RPM's before, well my ball has play now even on those 12K spins I've managed to get after I droped it.

What can I do to get my ball back to where it was. I read the FAQ, cleaned the plastic band which was black; I've been spining the ball for about an hour a day since the day I dropped it, with most spins over 10 RPMS. Is still hear a noise, it has play, and won't spin as fast as when it was new.

If I manage to fix this with your help, I'd be left with the led problem I had in the beginning.

Thanks

Daniel

To bad no one replied to this post. For me the techno is the fastest ball. I had to give mine away, since it never had the torque it did before, the led problem was still present. Although my highest score without the leds shutting off was above 13K I still believe I spunned that ball faster than any of the ones I have now (250hz and Neon).

Akis is the best Powerballer today, but I do believe that there are many guys out there capable of spinning that ball faster than 15RPM and as fast or faster than Akis, Mark Chaplin probe that, he has only been in the boards a couple of months. There is just not enough competition out there, some records on the board from the top 100 are old, I don' think that is because it's too hard to break them, but rather not many willing to keep practising.

Good point Daniel - though you have to remember that, while there are many thousands of balls in circulation, Powerballing is still a relatively new sport/hobby and so it will still take a little bit more time before "critical mass" is achieved and the board becomes a heaving mass of changing scores! :-)

While I also take your point about there being other Akis types out there...I would have to say that my opinion on this has changed (drastically!) after seeing the way he slaughtered the ball in the video of his first ever 90 second physical strength submission earlier...my God...the guy is a machine!

We will be putting it online shortly and I guarantee it will blow you clean away when you see it! I laughed out loud when I first saw the two minute clip...not because it was funny, but more his face...how stoic and relaxed he appeared as he wound it up to 14k and held it there for the majority of the spin...hardly batting an eyelid or breaking a sweat until the last 10 seconds or so...the guy is the greatest Powerballer in the world and probably will be hard to beat, now or in 2 years time when there are a million others to try claim his crown...best regards Rory
